An amazing but challenging national park hike to the peak that receives the first morning Sun in Australia. Byron Bay is mainland Australia's most Easterly point, but given Mt Warning's elevation the Sun strikes it first. A popular and must do hike on NYE.

Early hike for the sunrise is recommended. It is a 2.5 hour hike to the summit.

Hiking, views, Mavis's Cafe on the return trip. Leave at first light to avoid the heat!

This is a special place from my youth. Hiking up to the peak of this mountain takes a few hours but is a great joy and has amazing views of the entire region

“Described as an “exceptional gallery... home to some of Australia's finest in a variety of media” by Lonely Planet. MOAC celebrates the career, life and legacy of its namesake, Margaret Olley – Australia’s most celebrated painter of still life and interiors. MOAC combines exhibitions of paintings and objects, an interactive multi-media drawing activity, research library and education workshop, and is complemented by the Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio. Central to the MOAC is the recreation of areas of Olley’s famous home studio, principally the Hat Factory and the Yellow Room. The recreation features original architectural elements such as windows and doors, relocated from Olley’s home studio at 48 Duxford Street, Paddington, Sydney. The interiors are filled with over 20,000 items Olley collected over many years as subject matter for her paintings. ”
