Great place for birdwatching and some nice hiking trails along an abundant wetlands. Nature Center is small, but very informative.
You could rent a kayak and go up the slough. You could take a ride on Whisper Charters and let the boat do the work...it's really an awesome preserve.
Birders or hikers would appreciate this and it is close...south about 15 minutes.
