Mardi Gras in New Orleans is known the world over. Here you can see the making of the floats for the parades even if it is not Mardi Gras. You can still see the splendor of the floats and learn about the history of New Orleans Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is always on Tuesday, 40 days before Easter. …
Included only because it's on city guidebooks... basically a storage place for Mardi Gras floats. It's definitely a bizarre place...like going behind the scenes of a carnival that's closed. Enjoy!
A must-see if you want the true history and meaning of Mardi Gras (which isn’t all about getting drunk and flashing people). Take a tour of this “working warehouse” where you can usually see them in action making floats for the next parade season!
If you want to see some floats up close, and not here during Mardi Gras, you are in luck with this museum.
See all the floats and props being created year round in preparation for Mardi Gras!

“This is described as the "Local's Bourbon Street" There's many different venues with live music including Jazz, Reggae, and blues. There's street performers, an entire art market, street poets with fun old school typewriters. It boasts the most fun on the weekends, but is entertaining for any night of the week. Our Favorite places are: Cafe Negril, Spotted Cat, and D.B.A.”

“One of the best zoos in the country is here. There is also a water park in the zoo opened during the summer. You can watch the behavior of reptiles, mammals, birds and amphibians. The zoo is divided according to land areas. There are many benches and rest spots throughout and a children's petting zoo and play area.”
