The best view of Mount Desert Island. A rewarding hike with a pond at the end of the trail.

Wonderful hike for the whole family. 1.3 miles one way. The Schoodic Beach Trail is 0.5 mile from the parking lot to the beach, and then 1 mile from the beach to the mountain summit.

Between Ellsworth and Gouldsboro, you will see a turn off for Tunk Lake. There is an area out there, west of US1 called Schoodic Mountain and Schoodic Beach. This is a great place to hike.

Another favorite nearby hike. Make a loop and end with a dip in Donnell Pond - beautiful sandy beach.

A nice local hike to Schoodic Mountain. We have maps "Explore Schoodic Outdoors" inside the cabin.
