Amazing hiking amidst volcanic rock formations. Use the bus to get from the Main Lodge down to Devil's PostPile/Reds Meadows. The hike to Rainbow Falls is worth the view if you have time and energy! Or hop on the bus and get off at a closer stop to see both without all the effort!

These volcanic formations are a must see during the summer months. Take the shuttle to the parking lot or park before 7:00am (12$). Plan on a short hike to the formations and into Rainbow Falls. (call visitors center for opening dates, usually closed Nov-April)

“Epic walk through nature. You can see Devil's Postpile within half mile and Rainbow Falls in a 5 mile round trip walk. This is a trail, no amenities, except for beautiful views. We recommend getting there before the park opens at 7am, otherwise you have to take a bus in.”

“A gorgeous waterfall at the end of a beautiful hike. Likely to see deer and other wildlife. Plan for a 6 mile round trip hike with sunscreen and bug spray if needed. The reward is amazing! ”
