The launching point for Marymere Falls and Storm King; this is a great place to relax, play at the lake, or have lunch. If you're hiking go early before the parking lot is full around 9 am.

This is a must see area! The Lodge was built over 100 years ago. It’s is so quaint and lovely. Enjoy a meal or cocktail here. Fun Fact:Cynthia waited tables here in the late 1970’s...

Wow...the view from this lodge is stunning. Beautiful historic National Park lodge. Have a coffee or beer on the sunny porch, rent kayaks, paddleboards or just enjoy taking a leap off the end of the pier. Perfect summer day at the lake. Walk to Marymere Falls (easy hike) or for you hardcore…

“Salt Creek Recreation Area 50 minutes west on Hwy 101 and Hwy 112 The beach at Salt Creek offers both a great sandy beach for playing and rocky areas with amazing tidepools with diverse marine life like urchins, anemones, and starfish. The waves are also bigger at this county park (free for day use). Military bunkers remain as a reminder that the Strait of Juan de Fuca was a strategic and defended waterway during WW2. ”

“A winery in a former logging truck shop, right next door to a kayak and mountain bike guide service and rental place (Adventures Through Kayaking). Doesn't get any more PNW than that! ”

“Located close to Marymere Falls, the hike to Mount Storm King is one of our favorite. Fair warning though, this is a short but grueling hike. It is a steep, relentless climb up to Mount Storm King. Just before reaching the summit, the trail gets steeper. The trail is about 4-5 miles with a 2100 ft elevation gain, so its definitely not for the faint of heart. It is a perfect hike if you are looking for a challenging hike, and once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning vistas of Crescent Lake! ”

“Hurricane Ridge 18 miles behind Port Angeles An hour away, we often take out-of-town guests to this gem in the heart of Olympic National Park (National Park Pass must be purchased). There are hikes for all ability levels, and the marmots, deer, and chipmunks are better than a Disney cartoon. Check the Hurricane Ridge webcam before making the drive — a cloudy day here might mean foggy mountaintops without views. On the way down, stop at the different parking areas, the view is different from each lookout. ”
