Perhaps one of Eatonton’s most famous residents was Joel Chandler Harris, the man behind Brer Rabbit and the stories of the Uncle Remus Museum. The Uncle Remus Museum was opened in 1963 and today, it houses tales and artifacts from the beloved character and renowned writer.
