5.3 mile out and back trail that offers a change to see wildlife and is rated as difficult.
Head to the top of the Wildernest area for the Buffalo Mountain Trailhead. You can walk to the trailhead, but its about 45 minutes up. They do have parking, but get there early
Actually two trailheads located next to each other. One goes to Lily Pad Lake, a good hike for families. The more arduous trail leads to Buffalo Mountain, a difficult yet rewarding hike up to the top of the mountain.
Hard hike! 3,000 ft of elevation gain over 7 miles. Rock scramble at the top. Pack your 10 essentials for this hike and start early.
