The building is part of the complex of previous Birra Peroni company rebuild by Odile Decq, the French architect, to become a Museum with large spaces such as the exhibition halls (occupying a total area of 4350 square meters), the foyer, the auditorium and the terrace (or panoramic garden)

“The "MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts" is located in the "Flaminio" district of Rome and is built in the area of the former Montello barracks next to the Basilica of Santa Croce in Via Flaminia. The complex is located between via Masaccio and via Guido Reni, on the latter the main entrance. The body of the former barracks survive along the basilica of Santa Croce, and the facade on via Guido Reni, integrated in the project by Zaha Hadid. It was designed by the architect Zaha Hadid and managed by the homonymous foundation of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, it is divided into two sections: MAXXI art and MAXXI architecture”

“The "National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art" is an Italian state museum located in Viale delle Belle Arti 131 in the Pinciano district. It houses the most complete collection dedicated to Italian and foreign art from the 19th century to today.
