Meier embraced the difficult task of creating a building that would ultimately display a variety of contemporary artworks that were unknown to him at the time of design. The choice to build the museum in the Plaça dels Ángels is consistent with Meier’s vision to situate the building amongst some of…

“Short and nice walk from our loft, El Born. The Picasso museum is very rich in regard to work from the formative years in the life of the artist; it ispractically exhaustive up to the Blue Period. The Museum also houses an important representation of works from 1917, and the series law Meninas  (1957) as well as a comprehensive print collection.”

“Short walk from our loft. It is located in the Ribera neighbourhood, in the triangle between the Francia station, the Arc de Triomphe and the Olympic Village. It is bounded by four main roads: the Paseo de Pujades, the Paseo de Picasso, the Paseo de Circunvalación and the Carrer Wellington. It is the largest urban park in Barcelona after Montjuic.”

“What i like most about this must-see in Barcelona is the exhibition they have in the underground of the cathedral with the models Gaudí created to build it During the summer is necessary to book it in advance if you want to go in, if not it would be almost impossible to get a ticket for the day”

Monuments/Sites célèbres
“Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera (meaning “stone quarry” in Catalan), is Antoni Gaudí’s last civil work, which he started in 1906 and finished in 1912. Although Antoni Gaudí was particularly well known for his modernist phase, this work is considered “modern”. Included in the World Heritage List in 1984, along with Park Güell and Palau Güell, it was one of the first places of the industrial era to be added to the list of the most exceptional sites in the world. Its nickname, “La Pedrera”, refers to its external appearance, where stone has been used as a key material for the design of the façade and the balconies.”
