“Florence. The church of San Miniato in Florence is located above Piazzale Michelangelo and offers a beautiful panorama of Florence. Built between the 11th and 13th century, the exterior of the Church of San Miniato is decorated with green and white marble in geometric patterns similar to the facades of Santa Croce and Santa Maria Novella. A mosaic from the 12th century decorates the facade over a central window. With your back to the front of the church one can enjoy an impressive view of Florence even higher up than the beautiful Piazzale Michelangelo. From this lofty height, one can see from the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio, to the last standing parts of the medieval walls that once surrounded Florence.”

“The Dome and the Baptistery located in the city center and with its high cupola it’s difficult to miss! The Dome is made by Brunelleschi in 1436. The walk up to the Dome takes you though a labyrinth of corridors and spiral staircase allowing you to examine its construction. Its worth climbing all the 500 stairs just to get near to the beautiful ceiling painting and the fantastic view. The Baptistery in front is one of the oldest and most revered buildings in the city. It was built in the 6th or 7th century (no one is sure). The building is famous for its three sets of gilded bronze door made by Andrea Pisano and Lorenzo Ghiberti. ”
