Herstmonceux Castle Estate, Wartling Road Entrance, Hailsham, East Sussex BN27 1RN The beautiful 300-acre estate has formal gardens, woodland trails, meadows, and lakes, all set around a majestic 15th century moated castle. For younger visitors, there is an outdoor play area, giant tree swing and the family challenge of the Marlow Rope Maze.

Herstmonceux Castle is a brick-built castle, dating from the 15th century and sits at the mouth of a small valley facing south over the Pevensey Levels to the sea.

Lovely garden and tea room. You need to book for a tour of the castle though.
