This is such a large and magnificent museum that even on crowded days you can find areas that are quiet such as the African art galleries. Walk Downtown to 14 St & 8 Ave take the Subway Blue line 168 St.( C ) to 81 Street. You can take the Bus ( M79-SBS )to the museum in Central Pk W/W 81 St. Or Walk through the Central Park to the museum.

NYC Staple of a Museum. Beautiful walk through Central Park if you are in the mood. The roof top is also lovely at the Museum. You can enjoy a drink and view the outside installation if there is one at the time of your visit.

Free entry with a suggested donation. Great place to explore--especially on a rainy day. Can get touristy. I recommend going early or late.

Its huge, you need more than 1 day to see everything in this museum. Its amazing, breathtaking, full of surprises. Very economical, you can donate whatever you like for entrance. Must see!

Basically a huge maze- so so many masterpieces, it's a great place to explore. It is impossible to see everything in one visit, so I suggest you grab a map and select a floor or two to wander around.
