Freestone is a tiny village on the Marin-Sonoma border. The shop owner here supports small local creameries, also offering a fine European selection. I like to pick up goodies and take them down the road to Wild Flour bakery, which has the most amazing seeded bread. They carry a beautiful assortment of handcrafted items, like tea towels embroidered with tractors and farm instruments, honeys and olive oils, and anything that pairs well with cheese.

Freestone Artisan Cheese sells hand crafted artisan cheeses, hot roasted California nuts, olive oils grown and pressed locally, as well as crêpes and tea. We have picnic benches in the redwood park across the street, and Bodega Bay is sixteen minutes away. Find us in Freestone, California, located in the Sonoma Coast wine appellation. This is the heart of California Artisan Cheese making and where New World olive oil is taking off. We are between the Coastal Redwoods, the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco. Our little neighborhood includes the Wildflour Bread Bakery, Osmosis Day Spa and Joseph Phelps Vineyards-Freestone wine tasting guest center. Many of the cheeses we sell come from the Sonoma, Marin and Napa Counties. Our olive oils are pressed locally and the olives ripened in the Napa and Sonoma sun. Our walnuts and almonds come from as far away as the San Joaquin Valley.

Crepe's and local cheese and did I say crepe's? Holy moly. Don't go here without popping into Wild Flour Bakery for some carbs to bring back with your cheese!
