Our zoo has five major exhibit areas: Great Northwest, Fragile Forests, Asia, Pacific Shores and Africa and 232 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
Our Zoo had been under construction for a few years before Covid hit but is now re-open with much improved access due to a new timed entry reservations system. The Carousel and the Chimpanzees are my kids favorite stops. We are members and like to get there pretty early around 10 to beat the crowds…
Wonderful, walkable zoo with so many interactive activities. Perfect afternoon with kids.
Really cool little zoo. It is super fun to see the animals swim under the glass. Well kept and easy to get through.

We have an awesome zoo, also if you are planning ahead look up the zoo concerts, it is a fun unique experience.

“What a fun and interesting place for kids and adults! Also enjoy beautiful views of the city and access to a walk across the Tilikum Crossing Bridge of the People (yep, that’s its name!), the largest car-free bridge in the United States. And don’t miss lunch at Theory, OMSI’s cafe. The chef is amazing, and it has something for everyone (from elevated specials to a pizza bar). One of our favorites we often go to even without a visit to the museum! ”

“The Portland Art Museum was founded in 1892 and is the seventh oldest museum in the country. The museum has become famous around the world because of its permanent collection that has more than 42,000 pieces in it. For history buffs there are plenty of historic art pieces on display. There are many pieces that have been collected from the native people of North America as well as a large collection of English silver. The campus that the museum sits on also has the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art which is well worth taking a look at.”

“Nestled among the woods of the West Hills is one of Portland’s most loved landmarks: the Pittock Mansion. Newspaper publisher Henry Pittock started construction on the French Renaissance-style chateau in 1909. It was finished in 1914, just five years before his death in 1919.”
