Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine in Wilmington, Delaware, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E. I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry includes restored mills, a workers' community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.
This is a great place to get to know the beginnings of the DuPont family and their influence in Delaware. You can tour their mansion by taking the bus from the museum. The museum itself has info on the industries that shaped Delaware. There is also an "engineering" section for the kids on the…

“We love this place! For covid, you need to make reservations so check the website. Also, if you don’t take your own wine glasses and some food they will make you purchase there. There are a couple of wine glasses in the space but if you need more, let me know!! ”
