Jockey's Ridge State Park is a NC state park located in Nags Head. It covers a 427-acre area, and includes the tallest active sand dune system in the eastern United States. It is the most visited park within the NC park system.
This sand dune (largest moving dune on the east coast) is absolutely beautiful, great views but may get very hot during the summer months. Come here to fly your kite or just enjoy a hike with magnificent views.
Amazing dunes and more exercise! Visit the Jockey's Museum to learn more about this historical landmark.

“This is the first of three lighthouses that you can see in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Built in 1872, this lighthouse is close enough to visit if you are short on time. Bodie Island, (pronounced Body), is just before the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center and no longer an island.”
