Founded as an apothecaries’ garden in 1673, this small botanic garden displays 5,000 different plants that are medical, edible, and useful to mankind. You’ll be struck by the impact so many have had on our lives. Seek out the interesting Madagascar periwinkle, used to treat childhood leukemia, and enjoy the period glasshouses. Evening visits are possible in the summer months, when you can breathe in fragrant lemon verbena, geraniums, lavender, and rosemary dotted throughout the garden.

The oldest botanical garden in London, Chelsea Physic Garden was founded in 1673 to train apothecaries in the use of medicinal plants. Now you can visit the Tangerine Dream Cafe, a place where you can sit outside or in and order anything from Lavender Scones to Real Ale. If you see children stomping…

A must for anyone interested in botanics and horticulture. They put on lots of workshops throughout the year and there's a fantastic Christmas fair too.

Real gem, totally hidden from a tourist trail an so worth a visit. It is secluded and gardens change with seasons. There is always something beautiful blooming there. There is also a charming cafe to relax and have some bubbly.
