In the little island opposite the seaside village of Mochlos you will find one of the most significant of the surviving Early Minoan settlements in Crete. Excavators have uncovered more constructed tombs here than at any other cemetery of any period.
Mochlos is a delightful little fishing village a short distance up the road towards Sitia. Head down to the water front and you can eat at a selection of quaint tavernas looking across the sea.
