“The Hahndorf Farm Barn is a unique combination of a children's farmyard and a nature wildlife park that has been designed so that people of all ages can closely interact with a wide variety of tame and friendly animals. You'll notice the show times and pony riding times below are structured so there is always something different to do on the farm and you can experience everything without missing a single thing! Of course animal feeding inside the barn and outside in the wildlife park happens all day so you can take as much time as you like and visit these animals whenever you like! Attend the interactive Farm Shows at 11am and 2.30pm every day - Learn about where milk comes from - this is when you get to try your hand at milking. Attend the interactive Wildlife & Reptile Show at 12.30pm on weekends, public and school holidays - check out the reptiles and wildlife in their enclosures, then up close and personal during the show! See or even hold lizards and pythons if you dare! Milk a Cow - try your hand at milking 'Daisy' during one of the two farm shows every day of the week. Enjoy their Pony Rides - with 'Bonnie' the beautiful Shetland pony. Pony rides at 11.30am to 12.30pm and again between 1-2.30pm on weekends, public and school holidays. Enjoy a Tractor Ride on the purpose built tractor carriage - departing from 11.45am through to 2.15pm on weekends, public and school holidays. Cuddle Rabbits - so cute and placid, but try a tug of war with a big piece of carrot, the bunnies will probably win!! Cuddle Guinea Pigs - their most popular furry friends, they love carrots too! Bottle Feed Baby Lambs - even the goats and calves can get a bottle or two! Hold Baby Chicks - even see them hatching from their egg! Feed the animals in their 3 acre Wildlife Park. Hand feed 'Phoebe' the fawn, feed the emus and ostriches, ducks and geese, meet 'Panda', and 'Girlie' the Miniature ponies, feed the kangaroos and also 'Jack' and 'Jenny' the donkeys and feed camels 'Sasha' and 'Lulu' with the farmer at 1pm on weekends, public and school holidays. And what about a potato or two for 'Ben Hur' the 1100kg bull! Talk to Feathered Friends - see the new barn owls and kookaburras in the newly built enclosures, talk with 'Jaws' & 'Bob', the cockatoos. Refreshments and Gift Shop - they have a selection of refreshments for you to enjoy here on the farm, and local produce and gifts for you to take home to remember your visit. Picnics and BBQs - they have picnic areas with BBQ's so you can bring your own supplies and enjoy a fabulous family lunch on your visit. Or just bring a picnic and sit at one of the many tables and enjoy your lunch.”

“People always ask “why is it that Beerenberg strawberries taste so good? They’re so sweet and juicy and full of flavour.” We tell them, that’s no accident. It’s a story of risk, hard work and a long term commitment. Almost 200 years ago, ancestors, George and Anna Paech and their young family embarked on a courageous journey from their home in German-speaking Prussia to South Australia, a land they knew little about, on the other side of the world. They were willing to take the risk because they dreamed of a happy life here, free to farm and build prosperous and healthy lives for themselves and for future generations. They were fortunate to settle on land in the Adelaide Hills, which offered nutrient rich soil with gentle north-facing slopes, perfect for growing fruit and vegetables. They worked hard over the years, seeing themselves as stewards of the land, whilst cultivating their craft of food production. Six generations later, we, the Paech family, still 100% own, farm and live on the property, which is now known as The Beerenberg Family Farm. The name Beerenberg means ‘Berry Hill’ in German, a nod to our heritage, our produce and our hillside location. In 1970, their parents, Grant and Carol, made the decision to concentrate on growing strawberries. Grant infused the traditional farming practices that had been handed down to him through the generations and his deep knowledge of the land with new technology and techniques to produce the most spectacular tasting berries. He had inherited a commitment to excellence and spent many decades perfecting the art of strawberry growing, which he then handed down to his son, Robert, who now grows all of our strawberries. The first batch of strawberry jam in 1971 was the start of Beerenberg as we know it today, a thriving family-owned farm, tourist destination and manufacturer of the best tasting jams, chutneys, sauces and dressings. They are here for the long term and stake their families’ reputation on every product made. They love sharing a taste of the country life with the thousands of people who visit the farm to pick their own strawberries and taste our products. Everything is made right on the farm. They are proud to continue their families’ tradition of farming, land stewardship and food craftmanship.”
