Honolulu Museum on Beretania Street has a small but nice art collection. The Contemporary Museum on Makiki Heights Drive has a small collection. The gardens and the cafe at the Contemporary Museum are worth the trip.

Hawaii's contemporary museum and up on the top of Makiki Heights, parking is free but limited - its small and quaint, but there is a great lawn for picnics, order a picnic basket from the cafe and enjoy the lush grounds.
