Powell's Books is one of the areas oldest and most loved independent book stores. They have a downtown Portland store that has been there for 50 years, but we prefer to pop into this one since it's so close and has an amazing selection of local souvenirs, great book selection and knowledgable staff.

This is the local arm of Powell's books in Beaverton. The downtown location is a must see. However, it's really busy down there these days, because it's a must see. The Beaverton Powell's is still a really nice, big bookstore. You can buy new and used books here. There's a great area to take books are read for a bit before buying as well.
