take a small cruise ship trip from Vibo Marina Port (via Tropea) to Stromboli - you could do the Aeolian day trip (Lipari, Stromboli etc) or the Stromboli (only) day trip or the Stromboli by night trip (returning midnight)

The famous volcanic island of Stromboli. Take a nighttime boat trip to witness nature and it's wildest! This volcano spews out fountains of glowing molten lava on a regular basis. Without fail, you will see some volcanic activity, but the level of what you will see depends entirely on mother nature...

You can book tickets for day trips by boat to the Isle of Stromboli, which is an active volcano. Tickets are available from Tropea and also several places in Capo Vaticano.

Stromboli, famous for its active volcano. I recommend to visit the village of Ginostra, a haven of peace and tranquility surrounded by nature, with no roads for cars, only small streets and stairs.

For nature lovers, climbing Stromboli is one of Sicily's not-to-be-missed experiences. Since 2005 access has been strictly regulated: you can walk freely to 400m, but need a guide to continue any higher. Organised treks depart daily (between 3.30pm and 6pm, depending on the season), timed to reach the summit (924m) at sunset and to allow 45 minutes to observe the crater's fireworks.
