This rather ugly and slightly mad obelisk in a North London cemetery is a monument to the greatest question in politics—whether it is people and ideas that change the world or economics and events. Marx himself would say it is economics. Whatever your opinion, it was, of course, his ideas that had more influence on 20th century history than anyone else’s. Other notable graves here include the godfather of punk, Malcolm McLaren, and the actual father of British politics most notorious fratricide, Ralph Miliband.

Lovely location, a gem of London right near by. Karl Marx's grave, and book the WEST side if you can too.
Surprisingly entertaining tours of the cemetery which is the burial site of London's rich and famous. The West Cemetery has incredible tombs and vaults cut into the hillside at the Egyptian Avenue and Circle of Lebanon designed by architect Stephen Geary.
Beautiful walk through this famous North London Landmark and the burial place of Karl Marx.

“Our favourite park in London. Has a historic house with cafe and art gallery, and rolling hills providing a beautiful view over London on a clear day. A great place for walking around, taking a picnic. Grab a coffee somewhere in Highgate Village (many options here, including a few of the large coffee shop franchises) and take a stroll around the lake!”

“Great local pub with lots of craft beers. It is just round the corner in Highgate Road. Suitable for adults, but not families”

“12 minutes on foot down the A1 brings you to Highgate Tube, on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line and less than 20 minutes to Kings Cross. Unlike East Finchley, this station is actually underground so better in bad weather! ”
