“In the summer the town of Schagen hosts the 10 Thursdays of the West Friesian market, celebrating the heritage. 10 weeks on a row you can enjoy parades with costumes, horses and wagons and other sorts of activities. The market lasts (8.30-16.00) until the late afternoon and is bigger than usual. As anywhere in Holland, there is mostly something to do around the church square. ”

“You will not have enough eyes for this walk in Het Zwanenwater. You'll walk through a beautiful, varied dune area with two lakes, many pools, marshes and flowery grasslands. You can spot birds from the observation huts. There are no less than 80 species, including a colony of cormorants and spoonbills. Route is marked with brown poles.”
