Local beach, needs a pass for parking in the summer. Bailie Beach is located on the east side of the Mattituck Inlet. The beach on the Long Island Sound stretches from the eastern jetty on the Inlet to the Southold Town road end at the end of Bailie Beach Road. (Please note parking there is by Southold Town Permit only.) The beach sits at the base of fragile sand bluffs. Atop the bluffs is the Scout Lodge, which is popular with Long Island scouts who camp out there. There is no lifeguard at this beach.
