Founded in 1987 by Bavarian Masterbrewer Jurgen Knoller, Bayern Brewing is grounded in the Southern German Brewer tradition and standards. All their beers are fully matured through a process that takes up to 4 times longer than traditional ales and 2x as mass-produced lagers.

Bavarian-style beer, the only German microbrewery in the Rockies. Tasting room with premium crafted lagers or grab a bite to eat at the Edelweiss Bistro located upstairs. There are sodas and snacks for the kids too. 11 AM - 8 PM

“Great bbq. They usually sell out of some of their most popular stuff by 6 pm, so go for lunch or call ahead. Not much atmosphere, though they do have outside seating. Excellent food for the meat lover. Especially the ribs!”

“Kootenai Trailhead is approximately 16 miles to the north. This is a very popular trailhead, it’s beautiful but the downside is that it is more populated. Hikers from Missoula and surrounding areas like to hike here. It runs along the Kootenai Creek and is a gentle hike. Horses are allowed. ”
