The Malecon consists of a lengthy front Street full of vendors selling trinket like souvenirs opposite the ocean and Fish (seafood) market. On the market side there are a plethora of seafood restaurant and plenty of fresh seafood at reasonable prices. On the shop side you'll find T-shirts, many pharmacies ets. For the young at heart… When the sun goes down in the shops close, especially on the weekends you'll find a huge street party at the Melcon. Don't forget to at least drive-by… if you're up to it stop for a drink or something to eat. Lots of tailgating in the street vendors are serving anything from churros to hotdogs to piña colada’s ******Make sure you always negotiate your best price.*******

The Malecón is where events and celebrations tend to happen. There are several bars and restaurants mixed in with the local novelty shops.

All along the Malecon there is street shopping. Everything is "almost free" and make sure you have your bargaining skills ready to roll. You can bargain and pay in American dollars too!
