Built in grand Gothic-style, Southwark Cathedral as its best known, dates 1106 sits alongside London Bridge and looms over Borough Market. It's well worth exploring inside for the impressive architecture, tombs and religious artefacts and monuments to Nelson Mandela and Desmond `Tutu. It also has a nice cafe.
