Stunning Windermere’s famous Puddleduck cottage is a very warm, cosy but also spacious Victorian era slate cottage recently refurbished in a relatively contemporary style, but remaining sympathetic to the era of its creation. Local art adorns the walls. A spacious well equipped kitchen/ diner is finished to a high standard with solid oak units. A separate utility room to the rear of the cottage houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge freezer as well as a Worcester Bosch central heating boiler. You will find a very handy downstairs toilet and wash basin as well as a clothes drying area, coat and shoe storage providing plenty of storage for backpacks and walking gear. 2 good sized bedrooms with King sized beds and top quality mattresses, linen and sumptuous pillows are designed to ensure you have the best sleep possible during your stay at Puddleduck. The main bathroom upstairs is well equipped and maybe you will want to add some drops of your favourite essential/ bath oil and relax in the solid steel bath after a day’s activities and use the electronic candles to create a relaxing ambience or take a shower if you prefer? A private walled patio / garden area with cafe style table and chairs, planted window boxes and beautiful subtle led lighting automatically programmed to provide evening illumination within the natural slate patio slabs to the front of the cottage is just perfect for unwinding with a drink or two whilst watching village life pass by. Booths supermarket 150 yards away, offers the finest range of groceries, deli counter, fresh bakery as well as wines and craft beers you are likely to find anywhere. The wall mounted bird feeders and birdhouses on the patio are made locally from china tea pots and tea cups and saucers. Families of sparrows, robins and other birds are regular visitors to Puddleduck. Be sure to let us know what you see. The entire cottage is provided - for your comfort and privacy. You will be met at the door and you can contact the host by telephone for any help or information. The Golden Mountain Chinese takeaway is only 50 yards away and provides excellent Chinese food and incredible value - and is very popular with the locals from the surrounding towns and villages. On street parking outside the cottage is almost always available overnight after the shops and banks start to close from 5pm and your car is fine there until 10am the next day. In any event, a parking permit is provided so the car can be parked in a local authority official car park at the very safe Broad street car park ( a very pleasant 3 minute walk through the bustling village, and the permit provides free parking at many other local authority car parks in other local towns such as Bowness, Ambleside and Kendal - handy for exploring and can save you £7 per day! There is also plenty of free on- street parking in and around the village if you prefer.
