For a more hands-on experience, join us for a tour to get a closer look at life on the farm. Established in 1739, our farm has a rich history in agriculture and livestock. The cozy studio-style cottage features an open living space with combined bedroom, living, and dining area, along with a kitchenette and bathroom with a shower for your comfort and convenience.

Water Forest Retreat -Octagon

Water Forest retreat is a very private 122ft.² electrified and heated cedar octagon next to a brook on 56 acres of forest with a pond, waterfall, marsh and hiking trails. Cozy up in this quiet comfortable space while listening to Goldmine brook while you sleep. Charming garden cottage

This newly built cottage is a garden lover's dream. We invite you to experience the joy of waking in a garden, surrounded by the intoxicating sights and scents of beautiful flowers, picturesque fruit trees and healthy organic vegetables as you listen to the sweet sounds of our friendly birds. The two french windows and dutch door allow the warm sun and heavenly breezes to waft through the indoor spaces. Antique garden tools, original art and a vintage style kitchen complete the picture.

Updated cottage "Beriozka" on Cedar Lake

Originally from Russia (hence the name “Beriozka” meaning Birch Tree) I live in Stamford CT. About 7-8 years ago I’ve discovered Chester/ Essex area and fell in love. I’ve been coming here during summer to enjoy river rides, during winter just to see snow on the ground of old towns and needless to say during fall – when all the beauty of nature unfolds. Then came an idea to have an own place here and when an opportunity came to buy this small cottage on Cedar Lake I’ve jumped on it.

We welcome you to a serene and peaceful getaway at our recently renovated guesthouse. Explore 88-acres of woods, New England rock walls, streams, meadow and pond all without leaving our beautiful native landscape. We are conveniently located within a 10 minute ride from I95/Rt.9, the quaint villages of Chester, Deep River & Essex or down to the CT shoreline. We are also a working herb farm and happy to arrange farm tours, medicine making classes, or plant walks/guided hikes.
