Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". We have facilities for a baby, disabled persons and well-behaved dogs. Rural, 3 miles to the shops in Penicuik. 12 miles to Edinburgh and 10 miles to Peebles. The X62 bus goes to Edinburgh or Peebles every half hour. The bus stop is less than a kilometre away. It takes 40-50 mins to the centre of Edinburgh, depending on the traffic.
