Many of the locations require a bit of walking but nothing too strenuous. I will demonstrate my approach to watercolour sketching and guide you through the whole process to produce your own watercolour masterpiece. Betws-y-Coed will be our central meeting place before setting out on our adventure. Other things to note We may be traveling to local areas once we have met up.

  • Un sentier semé de contes avec une Galloise
We meet outside the tourist information centre where I'll supply the receivers that you use to hear the commentary I'll be relaying through my microphone. That means you can socially distance and linger to take a picture and not miss a word. This is a history tour made interesting with plenty of stories for young and old alike led by a lady in traditional Welsh costume - tall black hat and all. We see the outside of all the main attractions in Conwy - the castle, the church, the walls, Plas Mawr, the gateways and of course the smallest house and quayside. All the time you'll hear about the doings of past and present inhabitants - real and ghostly alike. Your guide is a resident of Conwy so you'll get a real insight into what it is like living in the town today as well as in the past. There'll be plenty of time for picture taking and question answering. The tour takes about one and a half hours and is suitable for pushchairs and strollers though there are some rough paths. Other things to note Wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate to the weather. Bring your own earbuds or headphones. You can buy a set for £1 if you forget

  • Sur les traces des mineurs de CWM Penmachno
Drive through CWM Penmachno, pass the quarry to the end, meeting point on the left, oppersite chapel. Come in wellies. The reviews capture the experience, please read below as written by people's experience: Imagine driving over a single lane mountain track to a tiny hamlet, hiking up to mine shaft hidden in a forest. The host then unlocks the rusting bars & you walk in a dark tunnel dug 160 years ago, as fresh water streams out, taking you with head torches deep under the Welsh mountains & into abandoned caverns & waterfalls. It's magic, Alice can unlock. Hearty, wet, exciting & magical. We really enjoyed this experience. It’s a fair trek to the mine but a beautiful one through the woodlands walking up a stream... uphill! The views were amazing!! The mine itself was great and very wet. There’s one part where you climb up a waterfall/steep stream! This was lots of fun but quite challenging and exhausting. Once out the mine, there’s another steep uphill walk. Alice is lovely, very chatty! She isn’t a fountain of knowledge on the mine like her husband, but clearly very experienced walking this route! It took nearly 3 hours as no rushing, no issues waiting for group, we looked around an abandoned village. No phone network here.Highly recommend this trip, very good value for money. Other things to note Wellies and water proof coat needed. Bring snacks and water.

  • Mountain hike to the Druids Circle
I've planned a great mix of a full day's hiking taking in some archaeological sites along the way. We'll leave the World Heritage Conwy Castle and hike up through the gorse and heather to the top of Conwy Mountain to check out the Iron Age fortress there. It's a good stretch ascending 1,000 feet but we'll be rewarded by the views over to the Great Orme limestone peak in Llandudno and across to the island of Anglesey. We then continue across undulating moorland crossing little streams and We'll probably see the wild mountain ponies and almost definitely the welsh mountain sheep. We eventually reach the Druids Circle - a site that's most definitely much older than when the Druids lived, dating back to neolithic times. We then follow old droving roads descending the mountain past old granite quarry workings down to finish at the bus stop where we'll take a regular bus (leaving about every half hour) back to Conwy. This hike lasts 4 hours and ascends(and descends) over 1,000feet. You'll need good hiking footwear and clothing and water and a packed lunch.. Other things to note This is a mountain hike so the ability to walk for 4 hours uphill and over rough ground The pace will be gentle. We finish at a different town where we will take the public bus back. Allow £3 for this fare.
