Welcome to Fort Waddington! A Rustic Cabin on 2/3 of an acre in beautiful BC. Quiet and Serene. Camping w/Electricity. NO Running Water. Fully stocked kitchen and wood Stove for the most amazing meals! Fire Pit in the back. Outhouse (Outdoor Toilet) and shower in the second bedroom (gravity). Fully stocked kitchen. Across from the lake. Steps away from access road. Lot backs onto buffalo farm. Close to Provincial Park - Boat Launch. Bring water for drinking and washing.
Welcome to Fort Waddington! This cabin was built by our family in 1970 and holds many great memories of summers growing up by Green lake. What to expect: All of the furnishings are vintage and original to when the cabin was built - handmade blankets by my grandmother and homemade curtains. Our cabin is about a 20 to 30-minute drive in from 70 Mile General Store where you can get most daily food items, toiletries, and gifts. The woodburning stove will make the most amazing roasts you have ever tasted! The cabin has been retrofitted for a gravity shower - huge relief when being in the woods for several days. Fill blue water barrel with warm water and place it on the shelf. The shower nozzle has a lever to stop and start the water flow. The water barrel behind the kitchen can be filled with water for washing only. Please, note-there is not actively running water. Guests must bring their own water supply. The campsite is open in the spring and you can fill your water barrels using the provincial campsite taps. Fully stocked kitchen for a comfortable stay any time of the year! The quietest and most serene place to unwind and de-stress! Labour exchanges accepted - message for details or inquiries If you need help or haven't used a wood stove, please don't hesitate to ask. It can be finicky in the cold. Best to heat it up slowly with kindling - place in the back so the heat can rise and draw the smoke up. Then build the fire slowly to the front. Keep warm so the smoke doesn't come into the cabin. It can also help to heat up the cabin with the radiant warmer first. It is a temperature balancing act. When using the wood stove, please remember to empty the Ash container so that smoke can rise and air can get in. Also, smoke may come into the cabin when the stove is cold. When it heats up, it will draw the smoke up the chimney and out. What to bring: -Water supply for washing and drinking -Linens -Basic Toiletries -Hygiene products -Food -extra wood -fire starter and/or paper to start a hot fire in the cold What to expect: It is like tenting but with electricity, a bed to sleep on, and a kitchen to cook in. It is as clean as a 40 year old cabin with retro furniture can be. There may be dust and surfaces may need a quick wipe if it has been awhile since the last guest. If something needs tending to, please let us know and we will send someone in. Note - in the winter, the ground freezes and the kitchen sink does not like to drain. Please dump water waste outside. Many of the photos are a credit to past guests who stayed at Fort Waddington over the Christmas Holiday season.

A cozy historic log cabin in a peaceful setting on Organic Ranch in the rural Loon Lake Valley. Get close to nature, enjoy wildlife, farm animals, endless hiking & numerous lakes to explore nearby. Loon Lake just 2km away. Enjoy buying meat direct from our farm. A great spot to disconnect, enjoy the peace of the wilderness, or go fishing, boating, or back roads exploring. Cabin is 1 room, plus toilet room (no shower). Kitchen, hand-crafted log bed, floor mattress, fireplace. 2 cabins available.
A great place for those who want to get in touch with nature, spend time outdoors, observe a wide range of wildlife in its true environment, enjoy a working farm atmosphere, disconnect from busy everyday life, or simply enjoy a quiet and relaxing get-away. This cabin offers an authentic farm experience in rural wilderness of British Columbia, Canada. This is one of two cabins on our farm available to rent through Air BnB. Our cabin, set on our Organic farm in rural British Columbia, enables guests to get lost in the peace and quiet of the country, recharge and disconnect, enjoy the beauty of untouched nature, experience all forms of wildlife and farm animals, have access to endless exploring of hundreds of lakes and forests (some recently charred by wildfire), and experience first hand the workings of a rural farm in Canada. Guests are able to hike, or cycle, directly from the cabin on to endless acres of public ("crown") land. Just 2 km away in the ever popular Loon Lake, with trophy trout fishing, as well as the opportunity for boat/canoe rentals. There are many, many more lakes, hiking opportunities, and scenic back roads drives, within a 1 hour drive. Guests also have the opportunity to purchase our farm raised meat and eggs during their stay. (products and availability may change and are dependent on season and customer sales) Keep in mind that we offer an authentic rural Canadian farm experience, complete with everything each season brings, including; heat, cold, dust, mud, bugs, unreliable cell service, no local grocery stores, and wood burning fireplaces to keep warm. Please Note: If you are looking for a polished and commercialized accommodation with every convenience please consider that our cabin may not be what you're looking for. However, if you're looking to get close to nature, enjoy wildlife, peace and quiet, and an authentic farm experience then our cabins are right for you! ACTIVITIES: A very popular area for hunting, snowmobiling, atving, kayaking and outdoor enthusiasts. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of crown land - just a few minute drive to access. There is no shortage of outdoors to explore, and hundreds of lakes near by. THE FARM: Our ranch is family run and fully operating, with baby lambs in the spring, haying in the summer, as well as many chickens, dogs, horses, cows through out the year. We sell organic eggs, chicken, lamb & beef through out the year, which are available for purchase to any visitors. The cabin is set on the farm, and although very private, the farm does function around this cabin. You may hear the odd tractor drive by on its way to the fields, or the sheep & horses calling to be fed. (don't worry, we wont make this noise as the sun comes up!) For your safety, guests are not allowed in pens with the animals, and are expected to respect all pets and farm animals. Please keep in mind that we have working dogs on our farm that are loose in the yard. If you have concerns with this please message us prior to booking. THE CABIN: The cabin has been fully restored from its original shape from 1940. It is 250 square feet. It has a fully equipped kitchen, complete with coffee maker, stove/oven, sink, mini fridge, cookware and dishes. It has a beautiful hand made log queen sized bed, and the option of a double size mattress for the floor that pulls out from under the main bed. It makes for cozy sleeping but the mattress can be pushed back out of the way for the day time. All linens are included. The cabin is heated solely with a fireplace/woodstove. Firewood for heating the cabin is provided. If guests are planning to have a late check-in time during the moderately-chilly months they are welcome to request us to start a fire before their arrival - advanced notice can ensure this (as we are not necessarily home a few hours prior to a guests arrival, if a late request is made). *Please keep this in mind if you are doing a same-day booking* During the indefinitely colder months we will be sure to start a fire and warm the cabin up for your arrival, however, after that it is guests responsibility to keep the fire going if needed. Of course, guests are welcome to request us stoking the fire during cold times if they plan to be out for the day, and we will gladly do so if we are available. *As we respect our guests privacy, we will not to do this unless requested. The bathroom is complete with ONLY a toilet. (There are no shower facilities at this time) There is running water, but you must heat your own hot water. When the temperature drops below freezing there will be no running water in the cabin. This typically begins around mid-October until the end of March, however varies from year to year. Please be aware of this before booking around October & March/April, keeping in mind that we can not predict the nighttime temperature in advance more specifically than this. During the times the water freezes we will provide the cabins with a bucket of water with a tap to use in the sink, as well as buckets of water they can use to still flush the toilet. Simply dump some water down the toilet bowl to flush. Small campfires may be permitted, but on approval only. Provincial campfire bans are often in effect from early June until September, but differ from year to year. Campfire wood is available for purchase, or bring your own. Guests must check with us before lighting any campfires. This cabin is perfect for guests looking to get back to nature, enjoy a farm atmosphere, disconnect from busy everyday life, and enjoy a simple, quiet and relaxing get-away. PETS: Pets are considered. A message, and approval, prior to booking is required. A $15 pet fee/pet/stay does apply (1 night stays with multiple pets may be negotiated case by case). Because it is a working farm with many animals and livestock, we require all pets on leash when outside - for their own safety, and the safety of our livestock. We do ask for owners to pick up after their dogs - doggy bags are great if you have, or shoveling and throwing in to the bushes or animal pens will also suffice. For everyone's comfort we make a point of limiting our dogs interaction with guests' pets at first, (we will keep our dogs inside and only by our side if you have a visiting pet) because we understand it is important for any pet introductions to be done with both owners present. Our large dogs can be a bit intimidating for visiting pets, so we understand to need to have "doggy" introductions done in a controlled manner and only when a/if appropriate.
Cache Creek is a 25 minute drive away, and Ashcroft is 40 minutes. You can find all your basic necessities in these towns. There are grocery stores, liquor stores, restaurants, and a hardware store. PLEASE NOTE: These are the closest towns and areas for grocery shopping, so please arrive at the cabin prepared! This is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise and there are endless areas to explore! Many people enjoy swimming in the lake on hot days, although most of the lakeshore is private property, with just a couple of treed public lakefront areas.
  • Très beau logement rustique. Leanne & Kevin sont des hôtes super sympas. Seulement à recommander! Et vraiment apprécié! Ps: achète la viande de Leanne & Kevin! :)

Private rustic log cabin at Skookumhorse Ranch with a stunning view of the town of Clinton and the Marble range mountains. Small bathroom with shower and toilet, small kitchen, wood stove, coach, Queen bed and front and back porch to sit and enjoy the view. 5 min from centre of Clinton, driveway is gravel off road, 1.5km long and steep. Skookumhorse Ranch boards and trains horses and there are pens available for you to bring your own horse/s as well.
The lovely view of the town of Clinton and the Marble range Mountains make this cabin special. A wood stove gives it a cozy feeling on colder days backed up by electric heat.
The main house is approx 50 meters from the cabin. Other than that there is forest, some horse pens and riding arena around the cabin. The town of Clinton is below in the valley and a 10 min car ride away. There is a grocery store, 2 gas stations, motels, campground, coffee shop, ice creme shop and 4 restaurants/ pubs in town. Clinton is a small quiet town most times and not much goes on or is open after 8pm.

The Hunters Cabin is a cozy, one-room log cabin with breathtaking views. It is 252 square feet in size and is best suited for hunters, fishermen or guests looking for comfortable, humble lodgings.
This house has one twin bed and one set of twin bunk beds, sleeping 3 guests comfortably. It is heated by radiant baseboards and a small electric fireplace. It has electricity. There is no running water in this unit. There is an outhouse 20 feet from the house, for your private use. The kitchen/food prep area has a double hotplate, a microwave, and a bar-fridge. On the covered patio, a BBQ is available. Towels are provided, but BYOB—bring your own bedding!
In the 1800s, settlements grew in this area with the development of the Cariboo Wagon Road and discovery of gold. The Cariboo Wagon Road followed the original Hudson’s Bay Harrison Trail, reaching north from Lillooet (Mile 0) to the Cariboo Gold Fields. Beginning at Lillooet, the road travelled 47 miles, over Pavilion Mountain, past Kelly Lake, to Cut-Off Valley, where it converged with the Yale-Cariboo Road. The community formed at the confluence of the two roads became known as 47 Mile House. In 1863 the town site was officially renamed “Clinton” by Queen Victoria in honour of Lord Henry Pelham Clinton. During the Cariboo Gold Rush, the location of the settlement made it a busy junction and an ideal resting place for weary travellers and miners travelling to and from the gold fields of Barkerville. Once “Gold Fever” subsided, the ranching industry developed. Some of the original ranches such as Maiden Creek Ranch, Mound Ranch and Pollard Ranch are still operational today. In the early 1950’s forestry became the mainstay of the economy. At one time, over 20 bush mills and saw mills operated in the area. Consolidation in the 1970’s led to only one operation surviving. This mill, known as Chasm Sawmills, a division of West Fraser Mills, closed in 2019. Since the mid-1970’s, the population of Clinton has slowly increased. Today Clinton and the area boast many facilities and landscaped parks, while still retaining the flavour and appearance of a frontier town. On Main Street, you will find quaint shops, hotel/motels, pubs, coffee shops, restaurants and gas stations, where one can find hidden treasures, grab a great meal or refresh and refuel.

The Meadow Lake Roadhouse is an historic, fully-restored, 1,500 square foot, log roadhouse. It sleeps six guests comfortably.
The Roadhouse was originally constructed in the 1860s. It then served as a saloon and stopping point for gold-hunters; later as bunkhouse for cowboys moving herds. Food and drinks were served by the kitchen while simple comforts and respire were offered upstairs in the bedrooms. In the early 2000s, the house was fully disassembled and rebuilt with the two bottom rounds of logs replaced in the hopes that this historic house will survive another 150 years. The Roadhouse has a large covered entry porch, with views of the Marble Range. The 860 square foot main floor features a large living room, kitchen and bathroom. In the living room are a wood burning stove, a tv with vhs player and a selection of movies and the house library. The four-piece washroom of the house features a walk-in shower and an old-fashioned claw-foot bathtub. The Roadhouse kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware. It has ample fridge, storage and preparation space. It is equipped with a vintage wood burning stove and oven and a modern range with stove and oven. Off the kitchen is a large deck with a table and chairs for meals outside. The two bedrooms are located on the second floor. The master bedroom contains a queen bed with Endy mattress and is made up with a feather duvet and handmade quilts. In the second bedroom are a double bed and two twin beds also with Endy mattresses, duvets and quilts. In addition to the wood burning stove, the house is heated by electric radiators. Wifi is available at the Roadhouse and there is full cell coverage in Meadow Lake Guest Ranch area. EV charging is available at the nearby Jefferson Ranch House; guests are asked to bring all their own chargers and adaptors. Outside the house is a horse shelter and turn-out. Please call ahead to arrange Bunk and Bale.

Recommande vraiment.

You’ll love this place because of the location, the ambiance and the outdoor space. There are large lakeside decks, two kayaks, a row boat and a cozy little cabana on the lake where you can enjoy relaxing, yoga, playing cards, listening to the Loons and star gazing. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and small families. The Up Top Cabin can also be rented together with the main Lodge cabin for retreats, small weddings or extended family . See Cariboo log home on Watch Lake
The UP TOP cozy log cabin is your private cottage while you are guests. I will be able to advise you of any upcoming community events and rodeos or gymkanas . There is a country craft and produce market on Friday in 100 Mile only 25 minutes away by car and another one on Saturdays at Loon Lake, 35 minutes away. There are lots of local cafes, antique shops and second hand stores in the surrounding area. There are local Trail Rides available and fishing on Watch Lake which is stocked with Rainbow trout.
There are local markets and trail rides as well as Rodeos and fishing. Neighbouring lakes are also close by. Watch Lake is speed restricted for your enjoyment...no fast boats or waterskiing here but Green Lake is 5 minutes away and is large enough to accomodate big boats and water sports.

Our cozy cottage is located directly across from the boat access to Horse Lake. It is a 1 minute walk to the lake which is well known for boating, water sports, swimming, ice sports, and fishing. The town of 100 Mile House is approximately a 10 minute drive and has everything you need. Come relax and enjoy the outdoors of the Cariboo.
The cottage is simple but sweet. It has electricity and numerous outlets, an electric heater, Murphy bed, and futon couch. There are kitchen counters and cabinets with some cooking amenities but we recommend campfire dinners when possible. The patio is great and looks out towards the lake with string lights setting the mood at night.
It is a short 10 min drive to the main town of 100 Mile House, 20 min drive to Interlakes shopping centre, 5 min to Lone Butte store and the Iron Horse Pub and restaurant (child friendly in the day time), and most importantly, less than a 1 min walk to Horse Lake! The cottage is located in a residential area that is quiet and the neighbors are absolutely fantastic.

The Cozy Main Log home is a hand craft log rancher that was built in the 60’s by a local cowboy/trapper in the area. Most of the logs came from the property. The home is furnished with antiques and unique decor including memorabilia, hand made pottery, wood burning fire place and old Wood cook top stove ...don’t worry there is a gas stove as well and barbecue. This is a perfect place for a retreat or small wedding venue and can be rented along with the Up Top Cabin to make it exclusive.
Retreat....rejuvenate...relax This is what my cozy cabin in the Cariboo is all about...close to all amenities but far enough away to really be quite and enjoy the Lake Life.
This is in the heart of the South Cariboo which is cowboy country with near by Lodges to enjoy horseback riding and quiet lake with speed restrictions to help keep it quiet during your stay. Lots of great places to walk and bike or cross country ski, sled. ATV trail system is very close by.

A cozy cabin in a private & peaceful setting over looking Loon Creek, on Organic Ranch in the rural Loon Lake Valley. Get close to nature, enjoy wildlife, farm animals, endless hiking & numerous lakes to explore nearby. Loon Lake just 2km away. Enjoy buying meat direct from our farm. A great spot to disconnect, enjoy the peace of the wilderness, go fishing, boating, or back roads exploring. The historic Cabin has an open living area with kitchen, 2 beds, fireplace & bathroom.
(products and availability may change and are dependent on season and customer sales) Keep in mind that we offer a real rural farm experience, complete with everything each season brings, including; heat, cold, dust, mud, bugs, unreliable cell service, no local grocery stores, and wood burning fireplaces to keep warm. Please Note: If you are looking for a polished and commercialized accommodation with every convenience please consider that our cabin may not be what you're looking for. However, if you're looking to get close to nature, enjoy wildlife, peace and quiet, and an authentic farm experience then our cabins are right for you! CABIN: The historic log cabin was built by a local pioneer in 1942, as a fishing cabin for a resort on nearby Loon Lake. Since moving it to our farm it has served as our "Cowboy/Wrangler" cabin for ranch employees. We now enjoy renting it out to vacationing or traveling guests. LIVING SPACE: The cabin has one 14'x18' open living space, which includes a full kitchen, fireplace, small table with chairs, 1 queen sized bed, and 1 double futon. The kitchen has a propane stove/oven, a mini fridge, coffee maker, and all the cookware and dishes that should be required for your stay. The cabin has a nice shaded front porch, perfect for relaxing in the evenings or during the heat of the day. BATHROOM: The full bathroom includes a toilet, sink & counter, and a small shower, rod & hangers for clothes, and a few available drawers in the dresser. * Please note - shower is small and sometimes takes time to figure out the right water temperature. Hot water tank is also small, but enough for 1 longer shower, or 2 quick showers at a time. The cabin is in a nicely treed quiet & private setting, away from most of the farm action. With a large field in view of the cabin you may see the tractor or atv driving around during haying season, or watch animals graze out in the fields.(don't worry, we wont make this noise as the sun comes up, and there is no rooster to wake you at 5am!) For your safety, guests are not allowed in pens or fields with the animals, and are expected to respect all pets and farm animals. Please keep in mind that we have working dogs on our farm that are loose in the yard. If you have concerns with this please message us prior to booking. OTHER CABIN DETAILS TO NOTE: All linens are included (bedding and towels) The woodstove is the only source of heat in the cabin, and firewood will be provided for this purpose (only). If guests are planning to have a late check-in time during the moderately-chilly months they are welcome to request us to start a fire before their arrival - advanced notice can ensure this (as we are not necessarily home a few hours prior to a guests arrival, if a late request is made). *Please keep this in mind if you are doing a same-day booking. During the indefinitely colder months we will be sure to start a fire and warm the cabin up for your arrival, however, after that it is guests responsibility to keep the fire going if needed. Of course, guests are welcome to request to have us stoke the fire during cold times if they plan to be out for extended periods of time, and we will gladly do so if we are available. *As we respect our guests privacy, we will not to do this unless requested. Small campfires may be permitted, but on approval only. Provincial campfire bans are often in effect from early June until September. Campfire wood is available for purchase, or bring your own. Guests must check with us before lighting any campfires. *When the temperature drops below freezing there will be no running water in the cabin. The shower will not be useable and guests will have to heat their own hot water on the stove.

A custom rock fireplace and king truss are features in the great room. Nearby is a master bedroom and full bath hosting a claw foot tub and slate-tiled shower. The high end kitchen, features a unique island bar. It opens to a generous dining area. Large decks are both west and east side of house and a covered porch is beyond the front door. The lower floor has a large entertainment room with games, DVDs and books, full bath, laundry room and three spacious bedrooms, two with queen beds (one has a crib) and one with a King and two single beds. Doors lead to a brick-paved patio and an outdoor fire pit. Another fire pit is on the north side of the house. It's a gradual slope to the shoreline where there are two docks. Trees are homes to hammocks. Two kayaks, a canoe and an aluminum boat await your pleasure
You are truly at one with nature when at Big Bar Lake due to its remote location. Ten kilometers north of Clinton BC, is the sign directing you to Big Bar Campground. And after driving 30 minutes down this gravel road (half an hour) you'll discover paradise. But make sure to bring all of your food and supplies with you. The closest store from this retreat is Clinton, and it is pretty limiting.
