This cabin is northwoods relaxation at it's finest...large lot, dock for your boat, clear water swimming, fine furnishings, great views, great fishing, close to ski and bike trails and and close to Hayward...a great spot for couples' retreats in all four seasons.
Having worked in professional interior design for many years I know what makes a space feel warm and inviting. This home has it. The photos speak the truth. The space is well adorned with all of the essentials, and a few extras.
This home is on Upper Twin Lake, which is part of the 2300 acre Tiger Cat Flowage. There is great fishing, canoing, and bird watching. The water is very clear, and the dock on the point has deep water for swimming. The location of the home is about 9 miles from Hayward. It is also in an area with many nice restaurants. Finally, the "OO" and Mukwanago ski/bike/hike trail heads are both within a 10 minutes drive.

Built as a winter or summer escape for a couple or small family, this beautiful four season cabin is a great way to experience the northwoods of Wisconsin. The home is very private, and has great access to the lake, the woods, and the Hayward area.
The cottage sits on 3.5 acres with 350 feet of frontage on upper twin lake making for a very private experience. The surroundings and views are very natural. The house itself is of the classic Northwoods archetype: 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, wood fireplace (wood included) and ample kitchen, living, porch, and deck space. The kitchen has the basics for a cabin, the bedrooms are cozy and have good beds, and the high efficiency fireplace will keep you warm day and night, all season long. We've made the outside space as enjoyable as possible with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, a picnic area, and a dock for your boat. The home is located on the northeastern tip of upper Twin Lake. Twin Lake is noted for it's great musky and bass fishing, and clear waters. It is also big and deep enough for water skiing and tubing. Upper Twin connects to Lower Twin and the Tiger Cat Flowage as well, so there is a lot of water to explore. If you are looking to relax in private with your loved ones this is a place that exudes family time. Whether it is canoeing on the lake, boating out the lake to the Blackiron Bar for a burger, catching some fresh fish for dinner, biking on the forest roads, or reading on the porch, you will be able to relax undisturbed in this unique Northwoods retreat. Winter is a very special time here...a true winter wonderland. The snow is a pristine white...the solitude at a level that forces you to unwind. Whether it is a snow shoe down the shore of the lake, ice fishing, a cross country ski session at the nearby birkie or Mukwanago trail, or a weekend of snowmobiling...winter is a great get away time. Try the winter...you will be glad you did!!! With the famous resort town of Hayward just 12 miles away you can choose from a variety of world class attractions, restaurants and shops.
Upper Twin Lake is a great medium sized lake for the Hayward Area. The waters are quite clear and are great for swimming at various public islands and points. Fishing is excellent for bass and musky. Walleye, pike, and panfish are also available. Upper Twin Lake connects to both Lower Twin Lake and the Tiger Cat Flowage. The very popular Birkie and Mukwonago ski and bike trails are less than a 10 minutes drive from this cabin. There are also lots of good bars and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The Blackiron Bar and Grill can be reached by boat and the Wheel Inn is a very short drive. Numerous other Bars and Restaurants are within 5-10 minutes drive. The town of Hayward is 12 miles away and Seeley is 11. Skiing and Biking is available 5 miles away on both the Birkie Trail and Mukwanago trail systems. Snowmobile and ATV trails a very short distance away.

This retreat is located on a small, clean lake conveniently close to snowmobile/ATV Trails, hiking, skiing and outdoor adventures. We have made updates to the cabin; however, it is still a work in progress. If you don't mind a few unfinished touches, you will find our project 'cabin' very comfortable. The main floor features an open floor plan, wood stove and comfortable leather furniture. The kitchen is a work in progress; but is fully functioning. You’ll find modern cookware and ample dishes.
The house is child friendly. There is a child safety gate that closes at the top of the basemet stairs. There is a free standing wood stove, available for you to use. Please supervise young children when stove is hot. We do not provide cribs or travel play yards, so if you have small children you will want to plan accordingly.
There is plenty of parking for vehicles and snowmobile trailers. Easy access to snowmobile trails, 18 miles north of Hayward and 60 miles from Duluth/Superior with State parks in the region as well.

Deer Haven is a tiny house (192 sq feet) located in my backyard, overlooking acres of woodland. The space is small and simple. Get to the queen bed in the sleeping loft by climbing the tug boat ladder. Bathroom has a toilet and stock tank shower. The kitchen has basic amenities - fridge, microwave, dishes, etc. Best spot in the house is on the couch, where you can see the fireplace and the gorgeous woods out the patio door.
Much of the space was built using reclaimed materials - you’ll find a port hole and ladder, reclaimed from a historic twin ports tug boat, rails made from poles from a Lake Superior ore dock, and shelves that used to be beams from a house build in the early 1900s, and lots of reclaimed corrugated steel.

THE SUNROOM SUITE... 2 cozy bed+bath+plant spaces on the main floor of LOON LAKE GUESTHOUSE. 10 minutes from Hayward feels like a world away in this elegant suite with an island view. Wake up in a bedroom bathed with light streaming in from windows and skylights. Walk the paths, go for ski, check out Hayward and have dinner at a local supper club. Then restore yourself with a luxurious bath in the 2-person soaking tub. A perfect place to begin and end each day of your northwoods adventure.
The Sunroom Suite’s MAIN BEDROOM with it’s beautiful views, houseplants and rich woodwork combine to make a perfect haven of rest and relaxation. Restore yourself with sun+moonlight coming from all directions and views of the lake, island and gardens. Or see them all covered in a snowy white blanket when winter is here. A small kitchenette is also part of this space and includes a microwave, 4-cup coffee maker, small fridge, dishes, silverware, glasses and mugs. Coffee and tea are to be supplied by guests. A cozy and bright SECOND BEDROOM can be added to the Sunroom Suite to accommodate up to 2 more guests. It’s boho chic with art, plants and lots of southern light streaming in the windows that look out at a woodland backyard and garden space. NOTE: Both bedrooms become less private when it’s booked this way. The bathroom is spa-like and spacious with a luxuriously deep 2-person soaking tub to complete your respite.
Loon Lake Guesthouse is located just 8 miles from downtown Hayward and 25 minutes from Spooner. The Namekagon (nam ah cog in) River, designated a National Scenic Wild River by the U.S. Park Service, is truly a local treasure and less that a mile away. It’s known for trout, canoeing, tubing and kayaking in the warmer months. In winter try to make your way to a canoe landing and witness how breathtakingly beautiful it is when surrounded by snow and ice. In addition to Loon Lake, where guests are welcome to use the canoe or swim (a bit weedy for some), Beaver Lake Town Beach is 1/2 a mile away with a great sandy, family friendly swimming beach. There’s also a couple of beautiful walking loops right out the driveway. One is about 45 minutes and the other about 25 minutes from the house. Message me for details. Loon Lake is 15 minutes from Hatchery Park and 25 minutes from the 'Hwy OO' trailhead of the American Birkebeiner cross-country ski and hiking trails. The TONY WISE MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN BIRKEBEINER is located in downtown Hayward. It honors my father who — in addition to many other remarkable achievements — is the founder of the Birkie. It cleverly charts the extraordinary 45+ year history of this iconic, world-renowned, cross country ski marathon using state-of-the-art hands-on exhibits including a 3D model of the trail, electronic race scrapbook, artifacts, photos, memorabilia and more. A must see for anyone who appreciates Nordic skiing and Hayward’s colorful history. The nearest restaurant is The ANGRY MINNOW BREW PUB which has great beer, food and atmosphere. A specialty of theirs is the crave-worthy fresh caught Lake Superior crispy pan fried whitefish or trout which is served Thursday-Saturday until it runs out. Outside patio in season. 10 minute drive The RANCH SUPPER CLUB, established in 1931 is a local favorite in downtown Hayward. It has an outstanding collection of supper club classics executed with care and skill by Chef Nathan. In addition to being known as Hayward’s Original Steakhouse, there’s always something new and interesting featured on their menu. It’s the best place to go for cocktails and wine with resident sommmelier/owner and hometown girl, Haley Bochler. 10 minute drive Another restaurant to love in the warm months is RIVERDECK. Located on an inlet of Lake Hayward with most of it’s tables outside on the deck. There couldn’t be a lovelier place to dine. Chef Corey creates beautiful food and it’s also a sweet spot for lunch and/or a beverage. The fact that it also happens to have been owned by my family and is the sight of the Lumberjack World Championships make it near and dear to my heart. 10 minute drive. Did I mention the beautiful gardens?... primo! I love the cuisine and atmosphere offered at THE FIRESIDE in Northwoods Beach—a suburb ;) of Hayward. The owners are Erika and Chuck Washawsky, who is a talented and classically trained Chef. It’s located in a refurbished 1920's building with rustic logs and a cozy dining room. The menu is excellent and always well executed. Like any northwoods restaurant worth it’s salt, it has a great bar. 15 minute drive RED SCHOOLHOUSE WINES is part wine shop, part restaurant and a really fun place to hang out. Sharon and Rick are amazingly welcoming hosts. They serve a variety of sandwiches, salads and snack plates. They often have live music and various other events throughout the year. Every weekend is a celebration here. 15 minute drive COOPS PIZZA has stood the test of time since 1979 as the #1 local spot for pizza, pasta, broasted chicken and sub sandwiches. It also has a killer aquarium. 10 minute drive HAYWARD FAMILY RESTAURANT serves large portions of classic, family friendly cafe fare. It’s recently become a local favorite, especially for breakfast. 10 minute drive Who can argue with homemade pie and lefse? The NORSKE NOOK is legendary for both. Perfect for breakfast or an afternoon coffee break. Located in downtown Hayward. 10 minute drive ANGLER’S BAR & GRILL, the name says it all. Burgers, pizza, soup, sandwiches, salads and Mexican. It’s been around for almost as long as Hayward has. The food is consistently good and they have a great patio. Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Hayward. Dine in or take out. 10 minute drive Hayward’s Main Street is very popular destination for dining and shopping. I particularly appreciate ART BEAT, a gallery featuring the finest in local art. FYI, because I come from a longtime Hayward family, I’m happy to help you enjoy your stay to the fullest by answering questions or helping with recommendations. I usually respond to messages on the Airbnb Message Center in a timely fashion from 9-9.

If you want to kick back, unplug, and enjoy an evening campfire, this is the place for you. Newly remodeled cabin with on a spring fed pond near the Namakagon River, Birkie and CAMBA trails. The cabin is close to Seeley, Cable, & Hayward. Propane heat & stove, a full kitchen & refrigerator. There's a bonfire pit, deck, charcoal grill, short trail to the dock on the water, plus a canoe, paddles, and life jackets. Outhouse. There's no running water but outside hand pump well for water.
Just off Hwy 63, follow the abandoned railroad grade through a tunnel of trees to the cabin on a point surrounded on three sides by a spring pond. The bird life is amazing—ducks, swans, geese, wading birds, grouse, finches, eagles. We rebuilt this cabin in 2017 into a one room kitchen-living room with an upstairs loft. The living room/kitchen area has a single sofa bed. The loft has a low ceiling and has three beds with a great window view to the springs. A large porch faces southeast while windows look out over the springs. We have four outdoor chairs and a table on the deck with a new Weber grill, solar shower, and bonfire ring nearby. No bedding provided—bring your own pillows and sleeping bags. There is a coffee maker plus plates, silverware, pots and pans, etc. Toilet paper included. The water from the hand pump well is safe (tested in 2019) but bring drinking water as the water is high in iron. You may want to bring campfire wood + there's plenty of dead wood to collect near the cabin, just not cut up. There's a bow saw in the house. We've left an older canoe plus paddles and life jackets (though you may want to bring your own for fit) including kids and a dog size.

Our cabin is tucked behind pines right on Highway 63 in Cable. It's within easy walking distance to everything in Cable. It can sleep 5-6, but makes a great space for 2-4. Dedicated area in the basement for plenty of gear. We are about 3 miles from the Birkie start area (xc skiing and a CAMBA fatbike trailhead), 2.5 miles from the North End Cabin, and within a short distance from several other trail areas for skiing, snowshoeing, and fatbiking. ATV & Snowmobile right out of the driveway too.
You get the whole place. The cabin sits on 1 acre of woods within sight of Rivers Eatery (recommended!), so it's a quick walk to town and back after a few beers! Use the kitchen to make yourself a meal and make yourself some coffee. Washer and dryer. There is a basement with a separate room with easy outside access where you could put several bikes and plenty of gear. There are games, cards, coloring books, and a puzzle. Internet and Smart TV. Snowmobilers are welcome - it's easy access right out of the driveway to trails. It's meant to be your jumping off point for all things Chequamegon area, with quick and easy access to Cable. If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Rondeau's is in sight from the driveway and they have both a grocery store and hardware store. For food in Cable, within walking distance you have Velo Cafe, Rivers Eatery, Tilly's Pies, Cable Cafe, and Brickhouse Cafe. Redbery Books sells books and games.

Our cabin is small but mighty (only 576sqft)! It has the potential to sleep 6, but makes a great space for 2-4. We are surrounded by 45 acres of woods with acres and acres of woods across the street. The beauty of silence is eminent. We are less than 2 miles from multiple CAMBA trailheads, 1/2 mile from the canoe put in on the Namakagon River, hiking/running/snowshoe trails, snow mobile and cross country ski trails and the cutest little town ever (at least we think so). IG: @hyggehousewi
In Danish, hygge (HUE-gah) is described in many ways, but it is simply the Danish ritual of enjoying life's simple pleasures. Friends, family, graciousness. The Hygge House encapsulates this definition by arming itself with a slow and peaceful way of living. No television, Chemex coffee system, gas fireplace, blankets to snuggle, outside deck for enjoying the peace, yet only 2 miles from town if you're craving some local action.
The Cable Area is becoming the GO TO travel destination, an outdoor center for adventure, fitness, races, nature and wildlife, recreation, learning and art. The town of Cable has a grocery store, 2 gas stations, laundromat, hardware store, library, 2 coffee shops, Rivers Eatery as well as other small bars/restaurants, Rockys Wine Emporium and many more small shops. More information on these places in our guidebook at the House.

Closest water source would be the city of Cable. Heat: Yurts have a wood stove for heat. Split firewood is provided for use in the woodstove only. Matches, lighters or other ignition sources are not provided, so please plan accordingly. Firewood: Wood will be provided for the wood stove which heats the yurt. Dead and down wood can be collected from the surrounding forest for use in the fire ring. A bow saw and axe are also provided. Pets: no pets allowed within the yurt or on the premises. No exceptions. Smoking: no smoking within the yurt. If you do smoke outside, please discard butts in the fire ring.
The yurt is located a few miles south of the small town of Cable. Gas stations, a grocery store, numerous restaurants and other quaint shops are all located within Cable. The city of Hayward is located about 20 miles to the south. Hayward contains larger supermarkets and retail shopping centers, as well as additional restaurant and shopping opportunities. Bayfield County contains more public forest land than any other county in the state of Wisconsin. Nearly 172,000 acres of Bayfield County Forest land, about 273,000 acres of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, approximately 27,000 acres of state owned lands, roughly 6,000 acres of Parks Service lands and around 8,000 acres of other municipal owned lands. In total, about 51% of Bayfield County, almost 500,000 acres of land, is in public ownership. The opportunities to explore and recreate are almost endless.
