This cozy fully restored 1800s cabin is placed on a beautiful 600+ acre ranch surrounded by national forest. Our rock outcroppings, pristine lakes, meadows & pine forests are set away from the hustle and bustle of Red Feather Lakes busy summer season. You can look forward to a beautiful fireplace (wood included!), amazing 1950s fridge/stove and a stone shower. The perfect cabin to regroup, relax & take in a little piece of Colorado's history. All photos above were taken here on the ranch!
The cabin, the first permanent home in Red Feather Lakes, was built in 1871. It was restored in 2007, so though you feel as if you just stepped back in time as you walk through the door, you have all the modern conveniences of a new home. There are 4 beds ( 2 accessed by ladder), a cozy fireplace to snuggle up in front of, a furnace, a 3 burner stove and oven, a stone and steel shower with a rain shower head, a dining area and a back patio overlooking your own private lake with chairs and a propane grill. The ranch has multiple stocked lakes that are available for catch and release fishing (sorry no ice fishing). You also have access to private hiking trails that go around huge rock outcroppings, through the meadows and around the lakes. There are many deer, elk and even moose that roam the property, so keep your eyes peeled on your adventure!
This cabin is on a private ranch accessed by a gravel road. Your only neighbor is your hosts and they will completely respect your privacy! Just a short drive away there are 4 public lakes for fishing and many more hiking trails through national forest. Red Feather Lakes has several dining options and grocery/ bait and tackle/ liquor stores.

Our little cabin features a new wood stove, plenty of windows, forest to one side (and quaint cabins all around). Small dining area and an adjacent porch, 8-foot pine picnic table. You will use a modern bathroom in the main house, which will be unoccupied during your stay due to Covid-19 safety precautions . You also have full access to the kitchen and dining area in the main house.
Sweet and simple, your 300 square foot cabin for sleeping has a Jotul 100 wood stove, electricity, a small fridge, and an electric kettle. Guests receive an orientation on lighting and using the wood stove or the fireplace. We provide the firewood and kindling.
Red Feather Lakes is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing mountain stay while also exploring the surrounding area.

Enjoy the best of two worlds with a mountain view deck area! This vacation rental is located just 10 miles from Downtown Fort Collins, and eleven miles from the Colorado State University Campus but is also just 1 mile from the turn off to The Cache la Poudre River Canyon / Roosevelt National Forest and is close to Lorie State Park on Horse Tooth Reservoir.Dow
This vacation rental sits on the side of a mountain that over looks The Cache la Poudre River Valley and The Front Range Mountains. It has world-class bird watching and you can often see eagles and hawks flying over Lake Watson and sometimes soaring right above the deck as well as hundreds of other species that either migrate through or nest in the trees on the property. The place is of rustic, mountain style décor and construction. Almost everything is made from local rocky mountain pine trees. The place is always in good shape and has a cleaning service. Kitchen and bathroom fixtures are a little bit out dated but in good working order.
The Cache la Poudre River Canyon is truly a hidden treasure, with majestic cliffs and intriguing rock formations enveloped in ponderosa and lodge pole pines and aspen. It is famous for it’s river rafting, back country skiing, hiking trails with spectacular views of The Rocky Mountains, canyons and river valley meadows, fishing, designated wild life viewing areas for unique animals like big horn sheep / rams and is also a great place to simply take an incredibly scenic drive and stop for lunch or dinner at a restaurant if you are only here for a short while. You can watch the rams while you are eating. Downtown Fort Collins is a scenic area called Old Town that is rich in history. It is comprised of old western, false front style, stone and brick buildings with a bricked in street that provides for a pedestrian mall. It is home to numerous, wonderfully unique non-chain restaurants, all kinds of shopping, arts and crafts, world famous independent beer breweries, music and art festivals, the beer bike tour and more!

Cozy cabin cluster in Gould at the Howling Coyote Tavern & Lodge; surrounded by state & national forests & some of the best off-highway vehicle, mountain bike and hiking trails in Colorado. Also great location for hikers, anglers, bird watchers, hunters, snowmobilers and cross country skiers. 20 minutes from downtown Walden. Our restaurant is closed for renovations. A great place to unplug in this very remote area, cell service is very limited if any and there is no Wifi at this time.
Single studio w/ full bath (shower-no tub), DirecTV, kitchenette & queen bed.
Gould is a tiny little township about 20 minutes from downtown Walden(it's un-incorporated which is why it utilizes a Walden address and zip code) population less than 100, most of whom are part-timers. Its an outdoors mecca nestled in thousands of acres of quiet and beautifully scenic state parks and national forests, and it is very remote. Our restaurant is closed for renovations. A great place to unplug, cell service is very limited and there is no Wifi at this time.

Three very nice restaurants are within 20 minutes or less. There are many activities in the general area - horseback riding, excellent fishing, golfing, hiking or winter activities such as tubing, snowshoeing, or snowboarding. A spectacular meditation center, Shambhala Mountain Center, open to the public, is located nearby for various classes, quiet time or to connect with other like-minded people. Visit Rocky Mountain National Park as part of your visit to the area - a little over an hour away!

The second largest of our cozy cabin cluster in Gould - 1 bedroom (queen bed) plus sleeper sofa - can accommodate up to 4 overnight guests. We are surrounded by state parks and national forests favored by hikers, birders, anglers, back country skiers, snowmobilers and more. 3 miles from State Forest State Park's Moose Visitor Center, 20 minutes from downtown Walden. This is a very remote location. Take this time to unplug. Cell service is very limited if any and there is no Wifi at this time.

Cell service is very limited if any and we do not offer Wifi at this time.

This cabin had been ordered from a Sears catalog and assembled over 50 years ago! It has now been completely remodeled and ready for you to enjoy!
This cozy cabin is a wonderful getaway! The rustic décor is absolutely charming and the red enamel fireplace just adds to the charm! This cabin has a well equipped kitchen and we'll supply bottled water for drinking and coffee. The well stocked bathroom has everything you need incase you forgotten something at home. Since there is no WiFi and cell service can be spotty, we've installed a DVD player with a selection of movies as well as books and games to enjoy. There is a gas grill for your use (please make sure it is cleaned after each use, otherwise you may have some unwanted bear visitors. Also, please comply with all fire bans/regulations). Once dinner has been made, enjoy it on the covered front porch on the custom Adirondack chairs made from old skies. The sleep shack features a double bed and a single bed loft. Nothing fancy, no heat or water, but a very comfortable place to sleep in the summer.
Red Feather Lakes Public Lake Fishing: Creedmore Lakes - 3 lakes with the largest being 10 acres. Only non-motorized boats are allowed here. Dowdy Lake - The largest of the public fishing lakes in the area, this lake spans 104 acres and 28 feet deep. Motorized boats are allowed on the water. Trolling works best for Rainbow, Brown, Brook, and Cutthroat Trout. Parvin Lake - The only lake in the area where you can catch Splake Trout. This lake spans 63 acres and only float tubes are allowed (no motors). Use artificial flies and lures only (no live bait). The bag and possession limit is 2. West Lake - This lake spans 37 acres. Electric boats are allowed but it is a no-wake area (no waves). Trout are plentiful here and are regularly stocked. Bellaire Lake - This lake is 10 acres across and 13 feet deep at the deepest point. Only non-motorized boats are allowed here. Rainbows and Cutthroat Trout are stocked in this lake but there are other types of Trout available. Lost Lake - Ask locals for fishing tips and boating information.

Walk a few hundred yards into the Nat'l Park from my cozy, contemporary space influenced by my Norwegian roots (STR #6184). A 44" 4K TV, full kitchen, queen bed, private bath, and big deck will ensure a great getaway. My house basically abuts the park, so you'll see lots of wildlife as you sip your coffee! + Walk into RMNP & The Rock Inn Tavern + 2 min drive to the Park visitor center + 5 min drive to town Enjoy a tiny home with great amenities for your next vacation!
NOTE: You must input dates and guest count before the platform calculates an accurate price for your visit. Thanks for checking out the north apartment in my duplex, perfectly situated just footsteps away from the boundary of Rocky Mountain National Park. You will love its cleanliness and modern, cozy feel inspired by my Norwegian roots. It's well appointed with a new kitchen, living room, TV, sofa, bed, carpet and more, and the fully equipped kitchen will allow you to feel at home during your Estes Park vacation. Note that winter tires, chains or 4WD/AWD are highly recommended in Estes Park from October to May. If you arrive in an inadequate vehicle during a winter storm and can't make it the last few hundred feet to the home, you'll need to ferry your stuff by hand and then park in our other home two blocks away and walk back. This sort of weather happens a few times a year. People who have stayed at my 425 square-foot rental have raved: "...Great place to rest your head after a long hike." "... Cute, modern cabin that is perfect distance from the National Park and town." "... Nice deck and at the top of the hill, so it felt like a true retreat." "... Rannveig was very accommodating and quickly responded!" I spent nearly three months during the winter of 2019 working to create a quiet and relaxing sanctuary for your mountain retreat. Improvements include: + Fresh paint throughout + Comfy modern couch + New carpeting in the bedroom + Twinkly, cozy lights + A brand new queen mattress for a great rest. + A 44” smart TV with lots of streaming options, + Super fast WiFi with no dead zones My favorite feature is the vaulted living room ceiling, making the tiny space feel quite big. I also love the large deck, which is surrounded by mountains. ***** FOUR IMPORTANT DISCLOSURES ***** This is a duplex, and both sides are short term rentals. The only shared space, however, is the driveway. The wall separating the units is sound insulated, but please be respectful and don't make a ton of noise. This 1940s cabin has been itching for a facelift for many years. While the inside is completely brand new (with the exception of the tub and stove), I plan to totally repaint the exterior soon, when weather allows. There are other rental units nearby in my historic cabin neighborhood. If you are looking for complete seclusion and and isolation in the woods, this isn't your best bet. Last, check in is 4PM and check out is 10AM. I cannot accommodate early check ins and late check outs due to my cleaners' schedule. It's a super tiny mountain town and the cleaners are slammed and there just aren't other people to clean. I'm sorry about that! BEDROOMS My home offers 1 bedrooms with its own private bathroom, plus sleeping for two more on a living room sofa bed. Bedroom 1 - A comfortable memory-foam mattress will ensure a good night sleep after a long day of hiking. Attached is a large closet for your gear, plus a full bathroom complete with shower/tub, original wood siding from the 1940s, and a brand new toilet, vanity and medicine chest. Blackout shades ensure privacy and a sound night's rest, but if you like to wake up with the sunrise, you can leave them up and close the sheer curtains and watch the room light up in the mornings. Bedroom 1 - Not really a bedroom, but the living couch turns into a full size bed that can comfortable accomodate two. A spare set of sheets and blankets is in the chaise part of the couch, which flips up. LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT Living Room -There's a brand new 44" 4K smart television with Roku. Come on in and log into your favorite streaming service. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling, Hulu, etc. WiFi - My home employs a mesh WiFi network with no dead zones. A strong 100Mbps connection will allow you to stream and work without any issues. LAUNDRY & COOKING Kitchen - The galley kitchen has everything you need to cook, despite it being so small. There's a full stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and assortment of pots and pans. My brand new knives are sharp (dull knives are a pet peeve!). There are cutting boards, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and a french press so you can get your caffeine fix before you enjoy the park. Laundry - My tiny space features a full size washer and dryer that you are free to use.
My neighborhood has about 30 historic vacation cabins. There are other buildings nearby so if you are looking for total isolation and wilderness seclusion, another home may be better for you. That said, the location can't be beat. You can hike out your door and straight into the National Park. The top of Eagle Cliff Mountain, which my home sites on the side of, has one of the best views in all of Estes Park. Standing atop it afford an unobstructed view of Beaver Meadows and all the high peaks along the Continental Divide. An unofficial trailhead is about 3 minutes from the door. You'll be on the west side of Estes Park, so you don't have to brave downtown traffic to get into the National Park. Driving into the center of town is a short 7 minute journey, and the closest grocery store is 5 minutes away.

Features: cozy food prep/eating area; loft w/ Queen size bed; outside “bathroom” w/ solar shower and bucket toilet; propane grill for cooking and wood burning stove on the patio; solar lights, candles and LED lantern for lighting; and propane heater to warm cabin in cooler weather. Enjoy this getaway cabin as base camp to explore surrounding areas or for a digital detox in comfort.
The cabin is small but just right for two or three people to hang out in the summer and perfect for couples all year round. Cozy and warm in the winter, cool and breezy in the summer. There is also a wood stove outside for evening camp fires. We are always on a fire ban here so we can't have open fire pits but the stove is perfect. Just open the door if you want to see the flames! You can even make your hot chocolate on it!
Our neighborhood has some really cool views also if you walk around. Evening walks up to the lake at sunset are beautiful.

What sets our place apart from the rest? Your OWN, private, 1880's historic cabin to stay in! Private sauna inside! Secluded, yet minutes away from Fort Collins. Serene & peaceful. *Note:* Our place is RUSTIC and nothing compares to it, as we live on 16,000 acres. No city lights, no neighbors! The celestial activity each evening---AMAZING, especially while soaking in the hot tub. (All surfaces disinfected w/ medical-grade cleaners in between stays! We will be serving breakfast again June 18th)
It is you and ONLY you that visits. We do not have anyone else on the property and cater to you solely. This is not a room within someone's house! It's a beautiful 1880's renovated, PIONEER cabin. Privacy and serenity is yours. If you need us, you can text but otherwise, you are left alone! The vastness and beauty that surrounds you is breathtaking. Our bunkhouse has a brand new Serta, double bed with Aspen frame and a small, but adequate bathroom. A/C unit in window for hot summer days. There is a front living room with stool, chair and desk so that you can work if you wish as we have Verizon wi-fi. There is not a land-line nor TV. Radio and CD player are built into the sauna. This is the perfect place to unplug and get the downtime you crave! The hot tub is a Master Spa Twilight series. Sparkling clean, emptied every 3 days. The fire pit is SOOOO relaxing in the evenings. You may use one of our three bikes which have been recently tuned up and ready for a tour of the 16,000 acres of open space. Down the road is a gorgeous lake. Waterfalls, baby horses, cows and pronghorns are often seen, as well as a variety of beautiful birds. Fall asleep to clean mountain air and the sound of the coyotes in the distance. A great horned owl and bald eagle frequent often! Our cabin is relaxing and serene, yet it is 150 years old and is RUSTIC---not the Hilton, but they don't allow horses either! Perfect for simple "get-a-ways." honeymooners, anniversary celebrations, and special, memory-making times!
There is NO NEIGHBORHOOD. The nearest neighbor is MILES away. This is a working ranch on 16,000 acres. The wildlife is amazing as well as the star gazing at night without city lights. FISHING is encouraged in our river. Eagles, pronghorns, exotic wildlife abound! The scenery is BREATHTAKING! Unique, peaceful and serene!

Best of The Mountains and Town Enjoy the best of two worlds with a view! This vacation rental is located just 10 miles from Downtown Fort Collins, and eleven miles from the Colorado State University Campus but is also just 1 mile from the turn off to The Cache la Poudre River Canyon / Roosevelt National Forest and is close to Lorie State Park on Horse Tooth Reservoir.
You can enjoy a verity of near by outdoor activities, zip down and enjoy all the attractions of Fort Collins or just stay here and relax. You can enjoy the view from the deck or from inside as there are large windows all the way across the front of the house. The Cache la Poudre River Canyon is truly a hidden treasure, with majestic cliffs and intriguing rock formations enveloped in ponderosa and lodge pole pines and aspen. It is famous for it’s river rafting, back country skiing, fishing, hiking trails, with spectacular views of The Rocky Mountains, canyons and river valley meadows, designated wild life viewing areas for unique animals like big horn sheep / rams and is also a great place to simply take an incredibly scenic drive and stop for lunch or dinner at a restaurant if you are only here for a short while. The place is of rustic, mountain style décor and construction. Almost everything is made from local rocky mountain pine trees. The place is always in good shape and has a cleaning service. Kitchen and bathroom fixtures are a little bit out dated but in good working order.

Improvements include: + Fresh paint throughout + Comfy modern couch + New flooring throughout + A brand new queen mattress for a great rest. + Super fast WiFi with no dead zones My favorite feature is the great views off the front porch. It's surrounded by mountains and you can walk into the National Park right from the front door. It's only a few hundred yards away! BEDROOMS My home offers 1 bedroom, plus sleeping for two more on a living room sofa bed. Bedroom 1 - A comfortable memory-foam mattress will ensure a good night sleep after a long day of hiking. Attached is a closet for your gear. There are cool bohemian curtains on bedroom door and on one window, while the eastern windows feature blackout shades to ensure a sound night's rest. If you like to wake up with the sunrise, you can leave them up and watch the room light up in the mornings. Bedroom 2 - Not really a bedroom, but the living couch turns into a full size bed that can comfortable accommodate two. A spare set of sheets and blankets is in the chaise part of the couch, which flips up. LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT Living Room - There's a spacious dining room table and a comfy couch to lounge in while you stream your favorite Netflix series on the speedy WiFi. WiFi - My home employs a mesh WiFi network with no dead zones. A strong 100Mbps connection will allow you to stream and work without any issues. LAUNDRY & COOKING Kitchen - The kitchen has everything you need to cook: a full stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and assortment of pots and pans. There are knives, cutting boards, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and a french press so you can get your caffeine fix before you enjoy the park. Laundry - My tiny space features a full size washer and dryer that you are free to use.
The Valhalla neighborhood is a small collection of about 30 small historic homes and vacation cabins. There are other buildings nearby so if you are looking for total isolation, another home may be better for you. That said, the location is awesome. You can hike out your door and straight into the National Park. The top of Eagle Cliff Mountain, which my home sites on the side of, has one of the best views in all of Estes Park. Standing atop it afford an unobstructed view of Beaver Meadows and all the high peaks along the Continental Divide. There's an unofficial trailhead about 3 minutes from the door. My home is on the west side of Estes Park, so you don't have to brave downtown traffic to get into the National Park. Driving into the center of town is a short 7 minute journey, and the closest grocery store is 5 minutes away.

Additionally, while the coronavirus is still around, I'm also wearing a face mask while cleaning (just in case) and am doing my best to keep a day's buffer between guests. The house also has a HEPA air purifier. Our hope is to welcome travelers needing a place to stay and also for guests who just need a little getaway to the peace and quiet of the county. There's plenty of fresh air out here and nice country walks or hikes. Anyway, as a host, I want guests to feel confident that we're acting responsibly and with care for one another.

Kathy
