The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
From the beautiful stone patio you relax with ease, enjoy your own firepit and 6-person hot tub, to sweeping views of the Columbia Gorge, to the luxuriously-appointed beds, every one of your senses will be pampered. Casual yet sophisticated, this home's four bedrooms and 3 baths make it a great choice for a family, multiple couples or corporate groups. The king-size bed in the King Bedroom faces a large window with a view across the Gorge, while the Skylight Queen Bedroom has its own full bath. The Little Queen Bedroom shares a 3/4 bath with the King. Two sofabeds (queen and twin), a daybed and a twin-over-full bunk round out the sleeping accommodations. The maximum occupancy in this rental is 14. A very well-appointed kitchen with full-size, stainless appliances makes meal prep a breeze. In the nearby town of Stevenson you'll find fresh, local produce, meats, a wide array of superb Washington wines and local brews, and just-caught, cut to order fish to bring back for the grill! But if you'd rather not cook, there are great local restaurants a short drive away. Stevenson is tiny, but packed with shops and services to meet nearly any need, and you'll find a bookstore, a wine bar and a terrific brew pub (Walking Man) that's definitely worth a stop. Regardless, you'll want to hurry back for a toast to the day as the Gorge turns crimson in the sunset. The location provides easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and more, yet the setting itself is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Surrounded by national and state parks, wildlife reserves and the magnificent Columbia River, with its world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding, you'll still be less than twenty minutes from charming Stevenson, and about 12 minutes from the iconic Bridge of the Gods. You will find all sorts of up-to-date guide books and hiking maps, but you'll be tempted to stay put in the great room, with its stone fireplace, a 52-inch plasma TV with satellite cable and streaming Blu-ray, thanks to the reliable, high-speed internet. Babies and children welcome! You'll find a crib, booster seats, Pack-n-Play and age-appropriate toys and games. Weddings? Yes! Cascade Retreat can accommodate outdoor wedding parties of up to 50 guests. Please contact Vacasa for pricing. Corporate Retreats? Workshops? Sure! Workgroups will find plenty of space for meetings, and tables, chairs and AV equipment can be furnished on request. Cascade Retreat is also elder-accessible and alternate-lifestyle friendly. Plenty of parking rounds out the list of reasons you'll want to choose Cascade Retreat for your next vacation or gathering. * Please note the cell service can be sporadic. A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Best of both worlds! A relaxing retreat in on 1.5 acres of nature on Kanaka creek, but 10 minute walking distance to town. Stevenson has great restaurants, bars and local ice cream. Suite is comfy with queen size bed and great spot for time out after day of hiking, golf, skiing or any other of the many activities here in the Gorge.
Being in a secluded nature setting and so close to town is rare and what drew us to this property. We trust guests will enjoy this as well.
This is a quiet family oriented neighborhood. Safe to walk at night. The property is very secluded from neighbors.
  • J'adore cet endroit!

Sweet bungalow and garden cabin on half an acre. It's a quick 15 minute walk to the town of Stevenson. A perfect spot to stay when visiting the gorge.
Enjoy the feeling of seclusion while still being close to all the amenities Stevenson has to offer. Close to hiking, kayaking, windsurfing or just a lovely place to relax. 45 minutes to Portland and 30 to Hood River. A perfect spot to make your base when visiting the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Two bedrooms in the main house - one with a full sized bed and one with a twin day bed (note that the twin day bed room does not have a door, but it still feels pretty cozy and private). Garden cabin has a queen bed and electricity, but no bathroom, you’ll have to go to main house for that. The house is a rustic cottage from the 30’s with the quirks and charm that come with an old house. Note: The property is not well lit and the house is up a small winding path. I provide flashlights to help you get around, but it is not easily accessible for those in wheelchairs.
A quick walk or drive to downtown Stevenson which has a grocery store, coffee shops, and many good restaurants. 15 minutes to Dog Mountain trailhead, 25 minutes to Multnomah Falls. The location is a good access point to the Gifford Pinchot, the PCT and all the Columbia Gorge has to offer.

Well appointed kitchen with high-end dishware, gas stove, gas grill, microwave, blender, and more. Woodstove inside, fire pit on the deck and a big one down near the river. Hot tub on a huge deck overlooking the river.
Washougal River Road is a quiet and country place that feels very different from the big city. Come here to relax, fish, swim, or commune with nature. River’s Rest is only 45 minutes from PDX, and Multnomah Falls, gateway to the Columbia River Gorge. Kayakers and Steelhead anglers will love the private river access. Hiking and day activities just minutes away. Huge fire-pit and private deck over-looking the river. WE DEEP CLEAN with Clorox and Lysol and host 6ft away during this time. We have stayed home and away from the public too. Our home is also available for special occasions. Message us if interested.
This is an apartment in a separate building than our home. It is also on the opposite side of the property away from the glamping site so you do have your own space. Enjoy the sight and sound of the Washougal River right out your door on your own private deck. Columbia Gorge is only 5 minutes away with many destination hikes to explore. River's Rest can sleep up to eight people. One queen size Beauty Rest Bed in first bedroom, a comfortable double hide-a-bed in living quarters, and two extra long Beauty Rest Twin Beds in Sleeping Nooks. The second bedroom has a twin bed and a comfortable queen size bed!. However, this bedroom's door is attached to the main bedroom so it does lack privacy. The second bedroom is great for children or for a slumber party or bridesmaid retreat. Short term monthly rental available between Oct thru March. References required. Arrive anytime after 3PM and you can stay until 12PM on your last day. Once you register, I can help you plan an itinerary as there are so many choices. Before your arrival, I will Email you additional information about other possible adventures close by. There is a notebook about 'one day' adventures you can choose to explore while you are here. There is wifi on the premises, Netflix works, a video and a DVD library. A full kitchen minus dishwasher awaits you as does a bathtub big enough for serious soaking! No need to bring coffee, cream and sugar! Decks with rockers are yours to enjoy while watching the river and wildlife. Our latest addition is a fire pit that overlooks the river. We provide firewood and the makings for s’mores. A magical tree house is here for you to enjoy when it doesn't have guests. This apartment is a great place for a gathering with friends! This is an upstairs apartment with a deck overlooking the river. So, you will need to be able to climb stairs. The first floor is a shop and a garage that is not used while guests are staying at Rivers rest. So it is very private (with locks) and you are in a separate building from our home. Children do need to be supervised at all times because of the River Access and severe drop-off. There is a Graco crib-bed if needed. Pets need to be with you at all times, and remain off the furniture and beds. We ask that your dog stays outside until dry! This is a great space for a bride and her bridesmaids to have a slumber party and to get ready before the big wedding at Capehorn Estates! (20 minutes away) I received a thank-you card that said... "We now have a problem. We will expect every place we stay to be as nice as your "Get-away Apartment." We would love to share this corner of the world with you. This part of the Pacific Northwest, including the Columbia Gorge, is quite beautiful! Cindy and Rob
A Mercantile Store is walking distance away and drive-thru coffee shack. The Merc has everything when you are in a pinch. They have wine and beer and great sandwiches and u-bake pizzas. You will also be able to buy a fishing license and a Discover pass you will need to hike in Washington at this store. There is a Safeway in Camas or Washougal for serious grocery shopping! You may want to shop there before heading up Washougal River. Cape Horn School and Malfait Park are walking distance away. It has a great Tennis Court, (we have racket and balls), a rubberized track, half mile walking trail and playground equipment for kids.

Meet "Matilda" a 1963 Aristocrat Trailer. Perfect for solo or couples outdoor adventure. Nestled in the heart of the majestic Columbia River Gorge, Matilda offers a private, exclusive glamp spot at Flying Trout Ranch. Surrounded by forest, Matilda sits next to 2 beautiful ponds with foxglove, lupine, lilies and a lovely meadow to explore. Enjoy a campfire and then let the frogs serenade you to sleep, while you listen to the gurgling waterfall right outside your door.
"Matilda" is located on a beautiful property located 45 minutes from downtown Portland, and 30 minutes from the Portland International Airport on the Washington side of the Columbia River National Scenic Area (the largest scenic area in the country!). A private and swim-mable lake await you. The property owners, Renee and Jeremy, live in the main house next to "Matilda", and are experts about all of the area's best places to explore, eat and drink. The secluded location will provide all the right ingredients to relax and soak in the beauty of the area. It offers fire pit & wood (when fire ban is not on) and access to a semi-private washroom with sink and toilet, located in the basement of the main house, just steps away from the trailer. The shared area is the laundry room for the main house, and we try to provide you with privacy during your stay, unless we're doing laundry. "Matilda" lives next to the main house, and overlooks a park-like setting in a maple tree grove, where the neighbor's horses love to greet our guests at the fence. During your stay you will be lulled by the small waterfall that pours into the pond next to "Matilda," where Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles hunt for trout to eat. If you're a birder and wildlife watcher, you'll LOVE this place. "Matilda" is equipped with electric for tunes and charging phones, electric heater for cold nights, original propane stove with 3 top burner and oven for cooking inside, and original ice box for cooling growlers of beer and food (ice and empty growler to be filled at local brewery provided). Basic cookware and place settings are provided. "Matilda" has a comfy retro inside, with a dining table and seating, small kitchen as mentioned above, with small sink. She also has a couch to kickback on and enjoy one of the books in the free library, or peruse the maps and guide books to help you discover the Columbia Gorge. The couch pulls out into a double-sized bed, as well as the dining area that provides a 2nd double bed. The space comes with comfy bedding and pillows. Two outdoor adirondack chairs and a hammock are provided for you to relax, as well as a bocce ball set. Renee and Jeremy will greet you when you arrive (unless you need self check-in) and introduce you to the property and the their three friendly dogs, that love visitors. The dogs and chickens have the freedom to roam the property, so if you aren't a pet/animal person, this place probably isn't right for you. Contact us if you're interested in having a bigger group, additional tent sites are available upon special requests. We do not allow children due to the water safety issues. Laundry available upon request at the main house for additional charge of $5 per load. NEW!!! We just added an OUTDOOR SHOWER!! With hot water and a view of the lower pasture.
"Matilda" is located on the Flying Trout Ranch, owned by Renee and Jeremy. The unique setting hosts two ponds filled with fresh spring water, as well as a small waterfall that provides a relaxing sound of running water. The Flying Trout Ranch was named after the trout that live in the large pond and jump out of the water after bugs they feed on. The property is adjacent to a working horse farm, and looks out towards the Gorge and Angels Rest (a well-known trail on the Oregon side). Just down the road a mile is the world-class Cape Horn Trail, one of the Gorge's newest hiking trails that provides an 8-mile loop with stunning views of the Columbia River. Private local trails are just steps from your front door, and offer walks through farm lands and along creeks, not open to the general public. In the other direction, the famous Washougal River just a couple of miles away, providing endless swimming holes, inner tubing, fishing and stunning waterfalls.

Rustic luxury with attention to detail. Eva's Cottage is comfortable and cozy, with many thoughtful touches like the down comforter and pillows on the queen-size, custom-built log bed (truly one of a kind!), and travertine/river rock shower. Relax by the massive stone, wood-burning fireplace, or in the hot tub just outside the greatroom. With wireless internet, internet TV and landline, you'll be as connected as you want, or need to be. This one-bedroom, one-bath, cottage is perfect for a couple or a solo visitor. Alternate lifestyle- and dog-friendly. From the greatroom, antique casement windows overlook the wraparound porch. The nook is a quiet, serene spot for reading or sleeping, and the kitchen is completely furnished to accommodate serious cooks, as well as those seeking a vacation from cooking. In the well-stocked kitchen you'll find a programmable drip coffee maker, coffee filters, coffee grinder, a French Press, a Keurig, microwave, toaster oven, electric water kettle, placemats, cloth napkins, tea towels and a British hotel teapot with a copper cozy. All this is in addition to a full set of cookware, flatware, glasses, gas grill dinnerware for four, and full-size appliances. Amenities at Eva's Cottage also include toiletries, firewood, and dog towels/cleanup kit (your pooch is welcome for a small nightly fee). If you need entertainment beyond watching the deer grazing nearby, you'll find internet TV (there is no other TV reception; the trees are so large they block line of sight to satellites) in greatroom, a TV/DVD/stereo in the bedroom, lots of games and books. Read about the fascinating woman who created this little slice of heaven which bears her name! Eva's Cottage sits just a few steps from our sandy beach, down a sloping path. It is an idyllic location with many eagles, heron, hawks, and deer, a large 20' deep swimming hole and year-round waterfall. The land surrounding the Cottage and across the river is private and protected. The temperate climate is never too hot or too cold. [Note: beach is shared by residents of nearby home, but they are quiet and respectful of our guests. Please note also that beach fires and fishing from the beach are not allowed (there is great fishing just 1/2 mile downriver, on the other side of the Salmon Falls bridge).] This 28.5 acre retreat includes a large and rare stand of old-growth Douglas fir, Western cedar, hemlock and maple; some of which are estimated to be more than 300 years old. Eva's descendants steward the land and maintain the forest with an eye to future generations' enjoyment. You'll have access to four trails along the property, so be sure to bring your hiking boots! A good supermarket, drugstore, and other services are about 14 miles away in the town of Washougal. The location provides easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and more. The Washougal is one of only two completely unpolluted rivers in the region. It offers fine fishing, whitewater rafting, canoeing and kayaking as it flows into the mighty Columbia River just a few miles to the south. All manner of outdoor activities are close by, yet the setting itself is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. * Please note that there is no cell service at this home. ** There are outdoor security cameras on this property, however there are NO security cameras inside the home or on the hot tub. The outdoor security system is maintained for unwanted guests and the owners only view the driveways to make sure the unit does not go above occupancy. A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Busy bees need a break. Take yours in the heart of the Columbia Gorge. Our basement apartment offers you a view of the river with style. From here you can walk to see what's buzzing in downtown Stevenson. Or you can break away from the hive and get out to see the waterfalls and scenery of this amazing place. Whether you want to hike, kite, read or just get some much needed R&R, whatever it is that moves you, The Apiary is your honey-sweet home base.
Stevenson is a small town with full services, and our neighborhood is middle of the town's residential core. If you're ok with hills, you'll enjoy the walk to dinner, the grocery, the pharmacy, or any other service you need.

There aren’t many places like this left on the map. If you’re looking for quiet seclusion not far from civilization, this is the place for you.  Things to know: Free WiFi, but please note that internet access can be spotty here Basic kitchen with a refrigerator, stove-top, small convection oven, and microwave. Deeded rights to river and swimming on the Washougal River. (Please respect neighbor’s rights and note posted property lines.) Fishing allowed past dam but 100% not allowed on property (it's a natural spawning ground!) No parties or loud music.

When I bought this place, it was literally a junkyard, with dozens of rusted out cars spread around everywhere. I've spent the last 20 years cleaning it up in my spare time, and with my spare cash. This is my favorite place in the world. I want you to feel that way when you are here too. If you don't see something you might want, feel free to ask me any questions. Ivan PS: Check us out on social media (search Hooper Hill), give us a review, and a like, and tag us in your pictures…

The River Bend Lodge certainly lives up to its name - a shady, wooded spot directly across from a waterfall in the Columbia Gorge area better! Rent this Washougal River vacation home and you’ll never want to leave. Oh yeah, and there’s a hot tub. Builty by hand in 1972, this cabin accommodates up to eight guests comfortably. Enjoy a dramatic, two-story rock fireplace in cooler temps and a furnished deck on warm afternoons. The lodge is built into the side of a hill, so you'll enter on the upper level, through the carport (that has room for two vehicles). Upon entering, make sure to slip off your shoes as this is a tread-free home. Plus, it’s more relaxing! Gather on the deck to check in with your friends as the sun sets. Late at night, why not zone out in the media room, with its chaise and 60-inch plasma TV with Blu-ray and streaming Netflix? The chaise sofa also converts into a queen-size bed for those sleeping in this room. You may prefer to sit quietly by the tall native rock, wood-burning fireplace and gaze out at the panoramic of the waterfall and Washougal River. This vista will surely lure you outdoors, where there’s croquet, a horseshoe pit, and even whitewater rafting and tubing nearby. In the fully stocked kitchen, you’ll have all the basic tools needed to fix a feast. You’ll even have a Keurig coffeemaker! Check out the propane grill outside - a freshly grilled meal will be delightful to share at the massive hand-hewn black walnut dining table. After dinner, soak in the luxurious hot tub under an expansive roof and before unobstructed views of the ancient forest and river all year round. Pro tip: warm your spa towels in the dryer beforehand! On the lower level, you have the master bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed. The adjacent bath has double sinks and tub with rainfall showerhead. A door at the end of the bath leads to the laundry room where you'll find a laundry room, which also has its own exterior door so you won't have to worry about tracking mud and sand through the house. The surrounding forest is part of a 26-acre family compound that is shared with Eva's Cottage, a getaway for four that can be rented together with River Bend Lodge. Eva's descendants steward the land and maintain the forest with an eye to the enjoyment of future generations. There are four trails that wind through the property, so be sure to bring your hiking boots! This highly rated and recommended Columbia Gorge vacation rental is a favorite. Find out for yourself the magic you could experience here at the River Bend Lodge! * Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours.
