Drinks & Nightlife

Mellow spot with a cozy fireplace and good drinks. Often has live jazz music, somewhere to go if you're looking for a quiet spot for a drink or a snack. Right upstairs in the same building is Mike's Place -- Nelson's classic pub scene with great beer on tap, a lively scene and pool tables. In the basement of that very same building, Spirit Bar is the place to go for live shows or late night sheenanigans.

This is the 'old standard' in town. Ask if Jennifer is working, she's my sister and lives in the suite upstairs : )

Sightseeing

Not too far and the drive in itself is beautiful. These are privately owned hot springs so don't expect no one to be there -- they are very popular but the caves are a favourite amongst first-timers and locals.. especially after skiing or a cold day in town.

Essentials

I love this organic grocery store. Beware: it's not the cheapest in town. If you are looking for a more budget friendly option I would suggest Save-On-Foods in the mall. The Co-Op is a great spot to people watch as well ;)

Parks & Nature

Beautiful spot to check out in the winter, amazing cross country skiing tracks around. If you brought your skates, you can skate on this gorgeous frozen-over lake... I believe you can rent skates at Mallards Sports in town as well. If you want to go skating outside but don't want to go out to Cottonwood, also check out Lions Park just up the hill in Nelson- they also have an outdoor rink there.
