Puffin Cove can be found at the Welcome to Caithness/Sutherland signpost on Drumholistan (the road between Melvich and Reay). Park in the lay-by and walk towards the sea for approx 10mins. The ground can get wet and muddy so wear appropriate footwear. Depending on the tide there is a sandy cove at the bottom of the hill and a variety of birds including the puffin can be seen on the islands from here. The puffin can be seen from April to August.

John O'Groats is a very popular tourist attraction up here being the most northerly point of Britain - again plenty walks available and a newly opened restaurant called "Northern Point" and various others. Most importantly, an ice cream shop called "Flavours" is a must if you're in the area!
