Mount Prospect, the second highest point in Brooklyn, draws its name from the sweeping vistas it affords viewers. It was used by the Continental Army in 1776 as a lookout point, which at that time offered strategic views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, New York harbor, a portion of New Jersey, Staten Island, and Long Island. In 1856, the City of Brooklyn built a reservoir at the peak of this hill to supply water to its western section.

Having originally opened in 2011 as a chic Italian bistro providing contemporary Italian cuisine, Basil has entered a new age of cleaner, simpler ingredients and fresher fare. Its woodstone oven helps create a range of delicious specialty pizzas, and its open kitchen not only allows for staff efficiency, but provides a culinary show and removes the veil between patron and kitchen. It also gives the chefs and cooks a venue to show off and have a good time, giving the restaurant an energetic atmosphere.

Peaches is nestled in the heart of Stuyvesant heights NYC. When you walk into the dining room you are greeted with a wonderful host who has the biggest smile. The drinks are strong and not watered down. The dining room is charming. On the weekends be wowed by the live jazz band right in the dining room. There is also a patio deck to sit outside on fair weather days. Making the experience even more enjoyable, get ready to enjoy good southern food that will have your mouth watering for more and your tongue singing for another slice of red velvet cake. Afterwards bar hop through Stuyvesant heights for even more fun.

Made famous in the Suzanne Vega song from the 1980's, "Tom's Diner." Great place for breakfast or brunch. Classic vintage NY diner furnishings. Great atmosphere. Pancakes are always a hit, but everything here is good. Very old school, but wonderful service. There can be lines during prime time for brunch on weekends. But the lines are fun! They bring chairs outside if the line is outside and so you end up playing musical chairs as the line progresses. And they keep bringing food for you to sample while you are on line. It feels like you are visiting a quirky relative's place.
