Roger became the first to hold the earldom of Arundel by the graces of William the Conqueror. The park is located off the seafront on the eastern border or Worthing with the neighbouring town of Lancing. It was once a Council waste tip until reclaimed in the late 1950s. It is now a large (45 acres) open space offering a range of sports and leisure facilities around an eight acre boating lake. Brooklands also has a café, miniature railway, children's playground, accessible play equipment, boating lake, tractor rides, nine hole Par 3 golf course, pitch-n-putt, putting green, go-kart track, pony rides and paddling pool (open during the summer) which are available all year round and are very welcoming for children of all ages and abilities; together with some landscaped areas that provide year round interest for all ages. Activities for Halloween and Christmas are also organised. All in all Brooklands offers a fantastic day out for the whole family!
