An institution in Cannes, since 1969. Good italian restaurant, on the Croisette, only 15 min walk from our flat. A little bit expensive though, but you can order a pizza for approximately 16 euros. www.vesuvio-cannes.com

Grasse has been a perfume town ever since the 17th century, and today as the world's perfume capital, its reputation speaks for itself. You can visit the perfum museum but also perfum factories or just wonder around the town. It is a great village !

Saint Honorat island is only 1.5 kilometers long and just 400 meters wide. You can get around it in less than an hour at a gentle walking pace. Of course, in reality it will take much longer because it is worth stopping to admire the beautiful views and enjoy the charms of the local flora. You can take a ferry to the Lerins Islands. They run from the Old Port of Cannes. Before the cruise you have to decide which island you want to visit because there is no ferry between the islands. Ferries from Cannes run throughout the year from morning to evening. You can find prices and hours on the trans-cote-azur.co.uk website (for the Saint Margaret island) and on the cannes-ilesdelerins.com website (for the Saint Honorat island).

Saint Margaret’s coastline is 9 km long and it is relatively easy to get around it. It is mostly rocky, but there are some interesting wild beaches. You can start your journey immediately after arriving on the island by ferry, or first visit Fort Royal, in which the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned. Choosing the order and direction of your walk is not really important. You just have to remember to take something to drink, and maybe also to eat, because the island is a great place for a picnic (though there are restaurants available).

Guide des Quartiers

Le Suquet is the old quarter of Cannes, probably best known to tourists as the climbing, winding cobbled lane lined with local restaurants, Rue St Antoine. Le Suquet contains a clock tower and church that sit high facing east overlooking the Bay of Cannes and Cannes itself. At the bottom of Le Suquet on Rue Dr. P. Gazagnaire is the Marché Forville, where the market is held in the mornings and early afternoon. This area is the original fishermans' residential area of Cannes. The houses are all very old. The streets were laid out at least 400 years ago. It is a 5-minute walk from the beach and is full of restaurants around the Rue Saint Antoine and the Rue du Suquet. A lot of the area is pedestrianised and is a major tourist attraction for visitors to Cannes. The rue du Suquet is the original main road into Cannes. It came in below the walls of the castle (for defence reasons). It is a pedestrian street again and has plenty of restaurants.

https://www.marineland.fr/en/ Marineland d'Antibes is the most visited tourist site in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. This success is due in particular to its rich and varied range of activities which enables it to attract an equally diverse clientele. Children or adults, underwater fauna enthusiasts or fans of aquatic attractions, there is something for everyone. Depending on their desires, visitors to the park can go for a few slides on the water slides, experience a very unusual golf course or simply enjoy the setting for a walk with family, friends or lovers. However, it is the marine zoo that makes Marineland so special. The park offers performances by dolphins, orcas and sea lions, which are happy to perform acrobatic acts to the applause of the public and the support of a symphony orchestra. The park also offers its visitors the opportunity to freely discover the many other fascinating animals that are preserved there, including penguins, polar bears and sharks.

Pretty fine sand beach at Pointe Croisette, facing the Lérins Islands. The environment is very pleasant. Away from the road, between the Pierre Canto port and the Palm Beach. During the high season, it is less crowded than the Croisette beach.
