Tindale Tarn and the RSPB bird reserve is just 3 miles away. Great walk up to Tindale Tarn and the bird reserve, then carry on across the fells either to the village of Tindale past the lime kilns or across stunning Castle Carrock fell. A great day out walking or cycling. Why not call into The Hallbankgate Hub shop and cafe for beautiful homemade cakes, soups and sandwiches or drop into The Belted Will for a superb bar meal. Pubs, Cafes all you need on the doorstep
The perfect location. A gentle stroll takes you into the friendly market town of Brampton. Each Wednesday there is a traditional market around the town hall, full of local delightful food. In the town hall you will find the tourist information centre a great place to call in for information on local walks, cycles paths and activities. With a wealth of information on Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District as well. Several great small cafes are scattered around the town centre each and every one excellent and unique. There are also a number of excellent pubs, restaurants and take aways as well. A library, doctors' surgery, chemist, antique shop, Cranston's the butchers and the list just goes on. One of the wonderful things about Wall & Lakes cottage is that you feel in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by beautiful garden and fields but yet you are just a short stroll walk away from the centre of Brampton with everything you need. Just perfect.

New, massively impressive swimming pool, gym, sports hall. Lots of varied sports activities. Wide variety of entertainment something for everyone, singing, dance, theatre and so much more. Definitely, a must to visit.

A great day out awaits at the RSPB bird reserve, Hallbankgate, Brampton, Less than 15 minutes by road. Fantastic walks, great bird spotting, peaceful tarn. Great bar meals at The Belted Will and superb wholesome shopping, coffee and cake in The Hallbankgate Hub and cafe. All together makes a great day out for everyone. Many of our guests visit especially to visit the RSPB reserve.
