Cozy Country Cottage

Come stay in our ​cozy cottage located down a country lane. Part of the Ponder farm dating back to 1906, we have a little house that offers a peaceful environment overlooking the family farm with a picturesque old barn, surrounded by tree lined fields. Enjoy the updated home with fully furnished kitchen, queen bed, and open front and back porches for relaxing in the quiet countryside. We are located just south of Sherman off Hwy 11, close to Austin College, with easy access to Highway 75.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Walk along Rattlesnake Creek, feed the fish from your private deck, explore the woods, sit around a campfire, and get away from it all while still being only 6 miles from all the amenities of the city and 20 miles from Lake Texoma and Choctaw Casino. You’ll also have a chance to spot deer, red foxes, coyotes, wild pigs, bunnies, butterflies, armadillos… +PRIVATE BASKETBALL COURT!! (Saturday nights-you can hop over to Grayson County Speedway.)

With 2 king beds, this Cabin sleeps 2-4 comfortably with one bed located on the restful loft area. This Rustic Cabin gives you access to all the amenities available at Best Day Ever Ranch. Rec Center with Coffee, our Swimming Pool with Outdoor Pavillion and Grills, Sauna, and Dream Lake perfect for Paddle Boarding or Fishing.

Our tiny space features remote entry and your own porch for sitting and enjoying the sunset. Approximately 550 sq. feet with many amenities. The queen size bed is a murphy bed and can be folded up to give you more space. There is also a fold out bed, all linens provided. This type bed is best for a child, teen, or small adult. We have alpaca, emu, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs, & cats. The space has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, blender, sink, dishes.

Flower gardens around the home bloom most of the spring through fall. A tower outside the house ensures good WIFI for work or to enjoy movies!
