For recreation there is hiking in the valley and nearby conservancy areas, biking on country roads, or cross-country, downhill or snowshoeing during the snowy months. Hawthorne is a 2-hour drive from NYC or a 2-hour Amtrak ride from Penn Station to Hudson, and then a 20 minute drive by car or taxi. Hello, hygge! Our renovated lakehouse on idyllic 100-acre non-motorboat Robinson Pond was designed as our dream getaway. Soak in the water views from every room, walk onto the deck or patio (and hot tub!) from sliding doors that let the outside in, kayak or paddle board from our private dock, project movies on the big screen, make pizzas in the outdoor oven, play foosball or air hockey, sit around the wood burning stoves or fire pits, walk to sandy beaches and marvel at all the wildlife.
