Guests can enjoy sitting on the dock (May- October) or the jetty, watch the eagles and Osprey, use our kayaks, do some fishing, walking or biking. Sit by the propane fueled fireplace on a chilly night. Brunswick, home of Bowdoin College and a # of great restaurants and unique shops is just 5 mi. Travel by bus or train to/from Boston. Portland is @ 30 min away.

This is one of two, two bedroom cottages located on Rutherfords Island in South Bristol, Maine. These cottages are next to each other.Our electricity is provided by our grid tied solar array. We are a five minute walk from the Atlantic Ocean, the Damariscotta River, and John's Bay. South Bristol is a small town 14 miles from Damariscotta,where the closest grocery store is located. We are a working fishing village, and lobsters and fresh fish are readily available at the local lobster pounds.

With hiking trails in the Pine Tree Preserve that adjoins the property and the Lobster Cove Meadow Preserve a five minute walk up the road, you can also explore nature and enjoy the solitude of the woods.

The apartment has skylights in the living room and kitchen and is located on a private property as a stand alone guest cottage. Close to Christmas Cove, Wawenock public/private golf course and 15 miles from scenic Damariscotta and the Pemaquid peninsula with a public white sand beach. Our waterfront is Poorhouse Cove, an estuary off of the Gulf of Maine, Atlantic Ocean.
