Quintessential Kiwi Beach Bach

Our classic Kiwi Bach sits on the ever-changing Pātaua inlet. Relax on the deck and watch the tide wane in and out while the kids play on the beach. For more excitement, paddle, swim, kayak or simply walk around and over the footbridge (perhaps do some "bombs" off it on the way) to the surf on the North side. Navigate the vast inlet and mangroves in our kayaks and float home on the incoming tide. In Winter, get cosy by the fire or simply pop on the heat pumps. Furbabies are welcome too.

This retreat offers an experience in comfort & sustainability. You will be 5 to 15 km from some of NZ's great expansive white sandy beaches, stunning walks, cafes & outdoor pursuits. Your accommodation is half of the main house. It is completely closed off for your privacy with private access & outdoor deck. BBQ by request. Not suitable for children.

Garden Hill Cottage, Maungatapere

This family house is located directly on the harbourside boasting wraparound decks incorporating a spa pool and offering amazing views of McLeod Bay, Mount Manaia, and Mount Albury. There are 4 bedrooms : three inside the house with a large bathroom, and a private cabin off the deck with it's own ensuite bathroom and private garden deck overlooking the bay. Living rooms are large and beautifully decorated to a relaxed resort-style atmosphere, opening out onto the massive wraparound deck.

The Annex - self contained unit .

The Annex is on a small farmlet, 6 km south of Whangarei, with harbour views. It was a sleepout, built in the 1980's, separate, but next to the main house. It has two bedrooms. There is a double bed and two singles plus a day bed in the living area. The living/ dining area, has a wood fire. There is a small shower room and separate toilet. It is situated about 100 mtr off SH1, so there can be road noise. There are no streetlights and it can be very dark if you arrive after sundown.

The Yurt Wai Rua

The Yurt at Wai Rua, west of Whangarei, is approximately 20 minutes drive from Kamo via Pipiwai Road. It is set in a beautiful tranquil farmland area beside a small lake, which is surrounded by native trees. Watch the native birds, ducks and pukekos whilst sitting on the deck. It has amazing rural views, including massive volcanic rocks. The yurt has a separate kitchen, with a small fridge and gas oven and 2hob burners. The bathroom has a hot water shower and composting toilet.
