To truly relax you do not need to drive as we are just a 5 minute walk from the pretty village of Mickleton where there are 2 pubs, a village shop, post office, butchers and hotel. The houses have been built to our own specifications and alongside the hot tub and cooker they contain a micro kitchen with cold water tap, 2 ring hob, fridge and ice box. There is also an eco toilet in the houses for your convenience. In addition, there is a double flush toilet and shower block on site for guests.

  • Je recommande vivement cet hôtel à tous ceux qui visitent la région. Notre petite cabane se sentait très privée et était parfaite pour notre minimoon. Le bain à remous et le feu étaient tous deux charmant et signifiait rester pour un repas du soir se sentait très romantique. L'emplacement est également parfait pour visiter les zones environnantes; Chipping Campden était un de nos préférés ainsi que les beaux jardins à proximité. Tanya était très utile et a répondu aux messages et requêtes rapidement. J'adorerais retourner dans le futur et je dirais à mes amis et à ma famille de visiter aussi! Merci Tanya.

  • Daisy's Den était exactement ce que nous espérions et plus encore. A notre arrivée, nous sommes arrivés et avons été accueillis par la charmante Tanya qui nous a ensuite indiqué notre cabine. Elle m'a expliqué comment chauffer le bain à remous et comment les équipements fonctionnaient et nous a laissés à notre séjour. Nous sommes venus ici pour notre anniversaire de mariage et les environs, les installations et la vie privée était incroyable. Nous avons hâte d'y retourner.

  • Quelle escapade incroyable! Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique dans Daisy's Den. Tout était comme décrit et fonctionnait parfaitement, le soleil est même venu briller pour nous! Je me suis réveillé tous les matins aux agneaux dans le domaine et j'ai passé des soirées dans le bain bouillonnant après le barbecue. Il y a plein d'endroits à visiter dans la région mais nous avons trouvé que quand nous sommes sortis nous étions désespérés de retourner à Daisy's Den, seulement j'aurais aimé rester plus longtemps!

Notre maison, qui s’appelle « The Old House » (très original !), fut construite juste après le chaos causé par la guerre civile anglaise durant la seconde moitié du 17ème siècle. Elle a bien entendu été rénovée depuis, mais possède toujours des éléments d’origine : poutres apparentes, cheminée, et cuisinière AGA.
    Nous offrons plusieurs options pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner. Nous envoyons un menu à nos hôtes avant leur arrivée afin qu’ils fassent leur choix, en échange d’une petite participation supplémentaire pour le dîner. Nous pouvons également vous indiquer où dîner à l’extérieur à 10 min aux alentours ou vous recommander nos restaurants préférés.

  • Tim et Konstantina sont des hôtes exceptionnels - des gens vraiment accueillants et intéressants, et nous avons apprécié leur compagnie. Leur maison est absolument magnifique et parfaitement située. Nous allons dans une région différente des Cotswolds chaque année et je pense que leur région est peut-être ma préférée jusqu'à présent. Ils fournissent d'excellentes recommandations locales, y compris des restaurants (l'indien local était fantastique!) Et des informations sur la région et la maison. La chambre était propre et confortable et le petit déjeuner était bon. Cela vaut la peine de mentionner que c’est un style "continental" avec des fromages et de la viande, etc. Nous avons également vraiment apprécié rencontrer d'autres clients avec lesquels nous avons mangé au petit-déjeuner, mais manger à une table avec d'autres personnes peut ne pas plaire à tout le monde. Un autre point qui mérite d'être mentionné est qu'il s'agit d'une maison familiale dans laquelle Tim et Konstatina vivent avec leurs enfants. Cela ne nous a pas dérangés du tout, car les enfants étaient très gentils et polis et nous ne les avons pas vraiment entendus, mais encore une fois, il se peut que ce ne soit pas tout le monde une tasse de thé. Globalement, je vous recommande de ne pas être déçu du tout! :-)

  • Nous avons eu un accueil chaleureux à notre arrivée et avons apprécié notre chambre. Le lit était confortable et nous avons tous deux bien dormi. Le petit déjeuner était incroyable: salade de fruits frais, des toasts et des croissants, du jus d'orange, du café presse française et une omelette personnelle et originale pour chacun de nous. Nous avons aimé apprendre sur l'histoire de la maison. Leur rue est si mignonne et vous devez vous rendre dans les jardins Hidcote, situés à proximité!

    Come to our spotlessly clean cottage, up a long driveway, totally private and peaceful and relax in peace and total comfort and peace of mind. You will be able to arrive without any checkin, no contact with anyone, and you can relax in the middle of the most beautiful countryside location. In the middle of nowhere!. Discover the local beautiful Cotswold area. On our doorstep is Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh and all the local Cotswold villages
    Our Cottage has three double bedrooms and a very large bathroom with shower and bath. There is a large kitchen and large sitting room with television including DVD player. The cottage is immaculately clean, and during these times it is perfect for a home from home experience, deep in the countryside and you will have total privacy. For larger numbers of guests there is a one bedroomed cottage that sleeps 2 people less than 10 paces opposite which is let separately. The Cottage has a garden to enjoy. For weekends I book for 4-6 guests rather than smaller numbers as we sleep 6 but for guests of only 4 - I would require a minimum of 2 night stay over weekend unless prior arrangement with Jo
    We live closest to the beautiful Cotswold town of Chipping Campden, with Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold close by too. You should not miss Broadway either! We are also close to Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham

  • Nous avons passé une merveilleuse soirée au Cottage et nous avons dit à l'avenir que nous préférerions de loin rester ici plutôt que dans un hôtel local. Les chambres sont belles et très confortables, les espaces de vie sont élégants et confortables et le chalet est resté charmant et chaleureux, ce qui peut poser problème dans des espaces similaires. Nous avons vraiment aimé magasiner pour la nourriture sur place avec seulement un court trajet en voiture jusqu'à Chipping Campden et nous avions tout ce dont nous avions besoin pour préparer un repas dans le cottage. Jo a pensé à tout! Elle et Charles étaient des hôtes très attentionnés à la fois en ligne et hors ligne et, même si nous n'avions besoin de rien, nous avions vraiment le sentiment que nous pouvions faire appel à eux s'il y avait des problèmes (dont il n'y en avait pas).   • Nous avons passé un séjour très relaxant au Duck House. Il est situé dans le jardin d'une ferme où pintades, chevaux et chiens errent librement. Nous avons aimé nous asseoir au soleil et admirer le magnifique paysage. La maison avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin, y compris une bouilloire et un grille-pain et le chauffage. Nous avons conduit 10 minutes à la charrue à Cold Aston et la nourriture était incroyable. Nous nous sommes également arrêtés au bureau de poste de Guiting Power pour un thé à la crème que je recommanderais au soleil. Les deux étaient des recommandations de l'hôte. Dans l'ensemble, un séjour charmant.

  • Que puis-je dire? Je veux dire que cet endroit est un temple pour se reposer et se détendre. Je me suis senti régénéré. C'était tellement magique.     In the heart of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, converted from an old farm building in a contemporary style with inglenook fireplace and private garden with barbecue - perfect for all seasons. Available for family events and celebrations, including hen and stag weekends. Within walking distance of The Times Best Village Inn. Nearest town Chipping Campden. Close to Daylesford, Soho Farmhouse, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Bicester Village and countless Cotswold villages.
    COVID-19 information Our properties are meticulously cleaned between visits and deep cleaned every month. However, because of the current situation, we have doubled up on this and are using bleach to clean every surface, in particular door handles, floors, kitchens and bathrooms. Generally there are more than 72 hours between bookings so this is helpful. When there isn’t this gap, we are deep cleaning. This means preparing the house may take longer than usual, so we hope our guests will appreciate that they may not be able to check in as early as normal or as has been previously agreed. We will continue to honour all our bookings. We are in a quiet rural and fairly isolated location, so the house is a refuge from the current situation! The Apple Barn is a recently converted farm building which was originally used to store fruit and vegetables. It combines the traditional features of stone and oak floors and beams, with contemporary fixtures and fittings. We are very excited because we now have ultra fast internet , supposedly 300mbps but of course it's not quite as fast as that in reality. Still, it is very fast especially for a rural location. The house can comfortably accommodate a large family or group of friends that don't mind sharing. There are plenty of extra beds available, but obviously the more beds you add, the more snug the accommodation becomes and the more people sharing the 3 bathrooms. There are 2 good sized ensuite bedrooms on the first floor and a further 2 -bedroom family suite with one ensuite bathroom on the second floor. PLEASE NOTE - these 2 bedrooms are conjoined so they make up one large space and are therefore ideal for a family or people that don't mind sharing. The first floor bedrooms have king sized beds (5 foot). Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and a single bed. There is also space in this room for an additional fold up bed. (2 extra beds if you don't mind very little space between beds). Bedroom 2 also has space for 2 additional fold up bed, but the space is snug with the extra beds in situ. The beds on the second floor are Queen (4ft 6") and four single beds. There is room in Bedroom 3 for an additional fold up bed and we have even managed to fit 2 extra beds in here, although it's a tight fit. There is a large double sofa bed in the sitting room. Cots and highchairs are also available. I'm happy for up 16 people plus infants and pets to stay and there is enough room to seat 16 in the dining room, but it will make the common areas more of a squeeze, especially in the winter when the garden will be less usable. There are enough beds for 16-18 but you should be aware that the accommodation would be very snug if you had that many people sharing the facilities. Please note that the second floor bedrooms are accessed via a spiral staircase so not suitable for those with mobility difficulties or very young children (see photo) The ground floor is open-plan with a large sitting room, kitchen and dining room. There is a large inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with log-burning stove, TV, DVD player, iPod connectable stereo (via aux cable or old style jack) and football table. The kitchen is well appointed with range cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, breakfast bar. and Smart TV. The dining room has a long refectory table with seating for 16 people. There is also a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and downstairs cloakroom. All rooms are served by wireless broadband. There are two outside areas. At the front of the property there is a lawned area with terrace. To the side is a very private circular terrace with dining area and parasol. This is a particular sun trap and effectively creates an outdoor dining room in fine weather. We provide you with tea and coffee, salt and pepper, sugar and cooking oil. We also give you washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, fabric conditioner, foil, kitchen roll, clingfilm and loo rolls. At Christmas there will be a real Christmas tree and all winter there is a plentiful supply of logs for the wood burner. The bathrooms have towels and face cloths, soap, bath soak, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. We don't expect you to use it but there is a vacuum cleaner and some basic cleaning products.
    Charingworth is a quiet hamlet on the edge of Ebrington. There are fantastic walks nearby, a great local pub and lots to do in the surrounding area. The house is in the Cotswolds but also close to Stratford upon Avon, Oxford and Warwick. The house is located in the middle of the Cotswold countryside. This is a rural location and the nearest village of Ebrington has a farm shop and a village pub. We always knew that our local pub, The Ebrington Arms, was special. Apparently The Times agrees. They have given it the accolade of Best Village Inn and also listed it as one of the in the best summer pubs in the UK. The pub is a short walk away in Ebrington. It's open all day and serves lunch and dinner (booking recommended) as well as snacks at other times. It also offers a very superior take-away fish and chips service. We are very lucky because we have several really good pubs nearby. The Churchill Arms in Paxford also has to get a special mention. The chef/owner (he used to be Head Chef at Soho House and who has worked for Gordon Ramsey, Marcus Wareing and Eric Chavot) has appeared on Saturday Kitchen Live alongside Michel Roux, and his food is really excellent. A new farm shop and cafe has recently opened in the nearby village. This is about 20 minutes walk from the house and close to the village pub. Vegetable Matters offers 'fresh local produce and a warm welcome'. There are general stores in Chipping Campden and Shipston-on-Stour which are both within 4 miles of the property. There is a Waitrose in Stratford-upon-Avon which is about 15 minutes drive away. Ideally you will need a car, although, if guests prefer not to drive. they can arrange supermarket deliveries from Waitrose, Sainsburys and Tesco. The house is surrounded by beautiful rural Cotswold countryside with many public footpaths, including The Cotswold Way. There are numerous Cotswold stone villages and towns nearby, including Chipping Campden, Broadway, Upper and Lower Slaughter and Stow-on-the-Wold. It is also close to Stratford-upon-Avon and an ideal location for visiting both the theatre and this historic town. Oxford and Blenheim Palace, in Woodstock, are also only a short drive away. We are a short drive from Daylesford, Soho Farmhouse and . Bicester Village.

  • Tout était comme décrit et Stéphanie était très serviable et arrangeante avec notre grand groupe - un hôte formidable. La communication avant et pendant était excellente et nous avions tout ce dont nous avions besoin. C'était aussi très propre. Pour 11 gars sur un cerf - tous dormant dans des lits individuels, je dirais que c'était «confortable» dans les chambres! - mais ce n'était pas un problème pour quelques nuits et la maison avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin.   • Nous avons passé quelques jours au Apple Barn avant le mariage de nos filles. Très confortable, ce qui est quelque chose car notre fête est passée d'un enfant de 3 ans à 70+. Quelques touches très spéciales qui ont mis tout le monde à l'aise dès que nous avons franchi la porte. La flexibilité des chambres a très bien fonctionné pour nous. Stéphanie a répondu à tous nos messages très rapidement. La maison est vraiment bien équipée et rien ne nous manquait. Très propre et très confortable, un super endroit où séjourner.

  • Nous étions un groupe de douze personnes séjournant dans la grange à pommes. C’est une charmante maison située dans un endroit fabuleux, à seulement dix minutes de Camden et à quelques minutes à pied d’un pub. Beaucoup d’espace à l’intérieur avec une énorme table à manger et 2 espaces jardins - l’un est gazonné et l’autre est pavé, avec une cheminée, un barbecue et une table de ping-pong. Les troisième et quatrième chambres sont jointes alors ne conviendront peut-être pas. Il y a une autre propriété sur le même site qui dort plus alors pourrait convenir à une plus grande partie. Stéphanie était extrêmement accommodante et la communication était top. Tout a été pensé, toute la maison est si bien équipée qu'il n'y a rien à apporter.     Vivez l’expérience de l’Angleterre rurale dans une maison ancienne de 400 ans au cœur des Cotswolds, à seulement 20 km de la ville natale de Shakespeare. Notre maison, qui s’appelle « The Old House » (très original !), fut construite juste après le chaos causé par la guerre civile anglaise durant la seconde moitié du 17ème siècle. Elle a bien entendu été rénovée depuis, mais possède toujours des éléments d’origine : poutres apparentes, cheminée, et cuisinière AGA.
    Nous offrons plusieurs options pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner. Nous envoyons un menu à nos hôtes avant leur arrivée afin qu’ils fassent leur choix, en échange d’une petite participation supplémentaire pour le dîner. Nous pouvons également vous indiquer où dîner à l’extérieur à 10 min aux alentours ou vous recommander nos restaurants préférés. D’ici, vous pourrez vous rendre facilement dans le nord des Cotswolds. Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, Upper et Lower Slaughter sont à moins de 20 min de route. Dans les autres directions, vous trouverez le Shakespeare County of Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Leamington Spa. Hidcote est à environ 15 min de Stratford, où vous pourrez profiter du théâtre, des restaurants, ou simplement vous balader au bord de la rivière.
  • Un bon endroit pour rester, nous avions une belle chambre avec un bon lit. C'est une charmante vieille maison de ferme dans une belle région. Beaucoup de belles villes et villages à proximité, et la région est également idéale pour la randonnée. Nous nous sommes sentis les bienvenus, Konstantina et Tim sont des gens très sympas. Si vous le souhaitez, ils proposent de nombreuses suggestions d'activités ou de lieux à visiter. Hautement recommandé.

    A cosy Shepherd Hut, named Ronald, set in 60 acres of tranquil Cotswold countryside. Glamping at its finest with all the comforts of home in the great outdoors. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is home to over 30 much-loved horses and ponies. Horse riding experiences are available whilst you stay. The perfect location for couples, adventurers and equine enthusiasts.
    Camping may not be at the top of everyone’s list during the winter months but Ronald is a very reasonable alternative. We’ve kitted him out with hot and cold running water, heating and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Ronald has a comfy fitted double bed, with storage underneath and all of your bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery, a kettle, an electric single hob, toaster, fridge and sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. Great for stargazing and the sunsets at the farm are beautiful. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. There is a heated shower room a short walk (25metres) from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests have shared (max 4 guests at any one time) access to a shower, WC and sink. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets. Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.
    Our Shepherd Hut is set in a stunning part of the Cotswolds within easy reach of picturesque towns such as Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Warwick are both within a 40 minute drive. There are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore in the surrounding area and some great local pubs and restaurants. Daylesford Organic is 3 miles away too and well worth a visit whilst you stay.

Petit et fonctionnel, la cabine a tout ce dont vous avez besoin comme base pour explorer les villes des Cotswolds! Mon partenaire et moi-même avons commenté à quel point la hutte était propre et bien entretenue, ainsi que le paysage à couper le souffle et l'atmosphère sereine! Si vous cherchez une escapade romantique tranquille, vous ne pourriez littéralement pas faire mieux que ça!

  • Nous avons passé un séjour fantastique à Ronald. Il était très chaleureux et confortable malgré le fait qu'il faisait très froid et humide pendant notre séjour mi-novembre. Les toilettes et les douches étaient très proches, elles étaient très confortables et elles étaient très propres et fréquentées régulièrement. Il y avait d'autres personnes qui restaient dans la cabane d'à côté mais nous ne les entendions pas du tout quand nous étions à l'intérieur de Ronald. L'emplacement était fantastique et les gens de la ferme étaient tous très sympathiques. Attention: les canards et les poulets sont vraiment sympas et voudront venir dire bonjour! Je recommanderais certainement cela à un couple souhaitant passer un peu de temps dans la campagne paisible. Patricia était très serviable par e-mail et nous n'avons eu aucun problème.

There is one shared parking space in front of the cottage and additional, free street parking is readily available. A path through the garden leads to the front door, which opens into the sunroom and the rest of the ground floor: Sunroom: South facing and looking out to the garden, with exposed stone walls and a clear roof, this is a lovely room to relax in, whatever the season. Contains a wooden table and two chairs; Living room/dining room/kitchen: The heart of this cosy cottage, the living room area contains comfy seating for three people, a wood burning stove and an LED HD Freesat TV, with DVD player. There is a fold away table, for formal dining. The kitchen area is very efficiently and practically arranged, and includes a 2-ring electric hob, electric oven, Smeg fridge/freezer, microwave, Miele washing machine/tumble dryer, toaster and kettle. There is also a radio with an iPod dock. Stairs lead up from the kitchen area to a small first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: Contains a double bed and plenty of storage space.     Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South. Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/café. As the village is away from main roads, it avoids the heavy tourist traffic and so visitors can get a real sense of rural life, enjoying the rolling countryside which falls within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The peaceful Blockley Brook attracts tourists and locals as a quiet place to relax in the warmer months. This brook, together with the other brook in the village, played a part in Blockley's history as there were once 12 water mills which provided work in various industries over the centuries, including silk production and flour milling. Architecturally the village has quite a different character in comparison to the rest of the North Cotswolds as it has a more similar style to that of the villages in the Stroud valley, but here they have used a more golden stone. A popular attraction in Blockley is Mill Dene Garden which is a partner garden of the Royal Horticultural Society.   • Ceci est un chalet vraiment doux et confortable. Il est petit mais cela est représenté avec précision dans la description. C'est idéal pour un couple avec un jeune enfant. Nous avions un troisième adulte occupant la petite chambre simple qui était bien pour les deux nuits que nous avons passées là-bas. Je pensais que payer plus de 400 £ pour quelques nuits était cher et que si j'y retournais, j'irais probablement directement à Character Cottages plutôt que via AirBnB. Cependant, il est très bien situé pour ce charmant village de Brockley et le parking n’était pas aussi compliqué qu’il le semblait au premier abord. Nous avons fait une belle promenade jusqu'à l'Arboretum de Batsford et avons également réussi à être à Brockley pour la soirée cinéma, ce qui était un régal supplémentaire inattendu.

Blockley est calme et pas touristique, mais plein de charme et les habitants sont très sympathiques. De plus, le Great Western sert une excellente cuisine, tout comme le café local, et le magasin du village propose un nombre incroyable de produits. Bracken Cottage est tellement pittoresque, chaud et ensoleillé. Il a un lit très confortable et de beaux draps.

The comfortable dining area in the corner of the room has a round table and seating for four people. There is a SMART TV with a DVD/Blu-ray player, and a DAB digital radio with a wireless smartphone connection; Kitchen: Looking out to the garden, the well presented kitchen contains an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, fridge with ice box, slimline dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, Dualit coffee machine (compatible with Nespresso capsules), electric coffee percolator and milk frother. Bedroom 2: A bright room, with two single beds (hypoallergenic, microfibre bedding is provided) and a built in wardrobe; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with a handheld shower attachment, a walk-in shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin. Stairs from the landing lead up into the lovely eaves room: Master bedroom: A characterful, cosy bedroom, with a double bed (hypoallergenic, microfibre bedding is provided), a comfy chair, plus a Freeview TV and a DAB digital radio. Directly outside the cottage is a bench and bistro table, and across the footpath in front of the cottage is a private garden. Laid to lawn with beautiful shrubs, there is a patio table with parasol and five chairs, as well as an additional bench, a charcoal barbecue with utensils, and a selection of garden games. At the end of the garden is a useful utility room, which contains a washing machine, two tumble dryers, and a freezer, as well as a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin. The utility room is perfect for cyclists or walkers returning from a day out in the countryside, and three adult bicycles and helmets are provided for guests to use (at their own risk). Free parking is available within 50 metres of the cottage, adjacent to the village green. Upon arrival, luggage can be unloaded adjacent to the village hall, approximately 20 metres from the cottage.
    The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches".     Walking along Blockley Brook leads you to Brook Cottage’s front door, which opens into: Living room: A cosy, beautifully furnished room, with a stone mullion window with window seat, wooden beams, a large inglenook fireplace with a cosy wood burning stove and a flat-panel TV. The living room is also used for dining and it contains an extendable dining table, with seating for up to four people. The living room then leads into: Kitchen: For a small cottage, the beautifully decorated kitchen is very well equipped, including a cooker with hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer dryer. Returning to the living room, a narrow, steep staircase leads up to a small first floor hallway, off which is: Bedroom 2: A cosy bedroom, with exposed beams and brickwork, containing a double bed next to the stone mullion window, which looks out to fields and the brook below. The main bathroom is accessed via bedroom 1 and this contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, basin and toilet. The staircase continues up into the gable of the house, opening out to: Master bedroom: Another cosy double bedroom, with exposed beams and a stone mullion window, bedroom 2 also has an en-suite toilet and basin. Heading back downstairs and into the kitchen, double doors lead out into the fully enclosed, south-westerly facing garden, which contains a paved area and decking at the end of the garden. There is an outdoor table and chairs, with a gas barbecue provided in the Summer. Old Manor est situé dans un village calme mais facilement accessible en voiture des villes de Cotswold classiques comme Chipping Camden, ainsi que Stratford-Upon-Avon aussi. Nous avons adoré visiter à proximité Maison Charlecote pour une promenade et le déjeuner avec une halte au café à l'aérodrome où Wellesbourne notre jeune fils aimait regarder les petits avions qui atterrissent et décollage. Les propriétaires étaient très accueillants et partagé beaucoup de conseils et d'idées avec nous, à portée de main si nous avions des questions, mais le chalet offre également trop suffisamment d'intimité. Notre fils a dit qu'il voulait « rester pour toujours », comme il aimait tant les fleurs, des courts de tennis et de la faune!

Stairs lead down directly from the living room to the lower ground floor rooms: Dining room: This delightful room has exposed wooden beams, a flag stone floor, large ornamental stone fireplace and another pretty window seat. The wooden dining table seats four people, and there is also a sideboard, a wine rack and a boot cupboard; Kitchen: This well-presented room has an electric oven with a four-ring gas hob, fridge, freezer, slimline dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and filter coffee machine. Walk inside to the scents of wood smoke from the open log fires and snuggle into a comfy chair by the fire, to view the daily papers with a coffee or something stronger.   • C'était un endroit merveilleux pour s'évader quelques jours. La vue était incroyable et c'était génial de pouvoir me rendre au magasin local pour faire le nécessaire pour cuisiner moi-même lorsque je voyageais sans voiture. En fonction du bus, il est parfois devenu un peu difficile, mais c’était bien de pouvoir explorer la campagne à pied. Chaque sentier était sa propre aventure. Le chalet avait tout ce dont j'avais besoin et était assez confortable. J'aimerais vraiment revenir un jour, si l'occasion se présentait.

La vue de la maison était magnifique et l'emplacement était idéal dans un charmant petit village. J'adorerais y retourner et je le recommande vivement.

  • Je ne pouvais pas recommander assez ce cottage comme une grande, base confortable pour explorer la région. Le chalet lui-même est très bien équipée et était vraiment agréable et propre quand nous sommes arrivés. Comme il est un ancien cottage, les chambres ne sont pas énormes, mais cela ne fait qu'ajouter au caractère du lieu. Il y a une belle cuisine, salon et jardin à l'arrière pour se détendre le soir ou après une promenade locale. Blockley lui-même est une petite ville charmante, et nous avons trouvé la boutique / café local avait tout ce que nous avions besoin sur place sur un séjour de trois jours. L'emplacement est très pratique pour conduire et explorer les belles villes de la région. Il est à seulement 5-6 minutes à Chipping Camden qui a beaucoup d'options de restaurant le soir. Nous avons eu un moment très agréable et nous retournerais avec plaisir à nouveau!

  • Cet endroit est magnifique! Nous avons tellement aimé. Le village est adorable et proche de tout ce que nous voulions visiter. Le jour de notre arrivée, il y avait un beau marché sur la place de la ville. L'enregistrement a été facile, le chalet est absolument charmant et on s'y sent comme chez soi. Les sols étaient un peu grinçants mais nous avons adoré! Malheureusement, nous avons eu une crevaison lorsque nous nous sommes arrêtés et ils n'ont pas été en mesure de nous apporter une roue de secours (pas de rechange dans les locations européennes pour une raison inconnue). Nous n'avons pas pu avoir une nouvelle voiture avant tard le lendemain. Et même si cela nous dégoûtait, nous n'aurions pas pu trouver de meilleur endroit pour être paresseux pendant que nous attendions! Il y a beaucoup d'endroits où manger et une petite épicerie au coin de la rue. Nous sommes allés en voiture à Stow on the Wold pour le dîner au Porch House (c'était génial!).

The broad way is thought to be especially wide because at one time there used to be streams running each side of the main drive. These streams were eventually hidden in underground pipes where they would emerge at 'dipping' points, but sadly they are now almost completely invisible.     Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now.   • Nous avons dû avoir un nouveau chalet très rapidement car notre premier choix était inondé par le mauvais temps. Le service et la réponse de Character Cottage étaient excellents et nous avons eu une belle alternative. Les propriétaires ont travaillé rapidement pour préparer le chalet pour notre arrivée (Bell Cottage, Stow) et c'était accueillant et très propre.     The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone).     Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South. Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/café. As the village is away from main roads, it avoids the heavy tourist traffic and so visitors can get a real sense of rural life, enjoying the rolling countryside which falls within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The peaceful Blockley Brook attracts tourists and locals as a quiet place to relax in the warmer months. This brook, together with the other brook in the village, played a part in Blockley's history as there were once 12 water mills which provided work in various industries over the centuries, including silk production and flour milling. The pub has two rooms: one is used as the restaurant and the other houses a pool table, juke box and darts board (dogs are welcome in the pool room). The Pub has recently been extensively refurbished and now boasts 1st class facilities and comforts. The spacious lounge bar/restaurant retains its period "feel" but has been re-furnished and decorated with great taste and care. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. Blockley Village Shop & Café (blockleyshop.com): The community owned shop and café is the hub of the village. The shop offers a wide range of basic groceries and necessities, and a tempting array of local products, including farm meat and free-range eggs, daily deliveries of local fruit and veg, freshly baked bread and locally made ready meals. Logs are generally stocked in winter. The licensed café is open all day, serving breakfasts, lunches, coffees and teas, and home-baked cakes. Take-away hot and cold food, including croissants, pastries and baguettes, is also very popular. The café, where free broadband is available, is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors of all ages.

Nous sommes allés aux Cotswolds plusieurs fois mais Blockley semble être l'un des rares villages qui n'a pas encore été découvert par les touristes. Il y a un café et un magasin à distance de marche du chalet et des copeaux de Camden, etc. tous à une courte distance en voiture. Le chalet lui-même est incroyable du feu confortable à la belle cuisine qui fait un joli centre pour la famille aux chambres les plus confortables qui vous font vous sentir comme chez vous. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute.
