The area is perfect for a family holiday, or a long weekend away with friends. Located just opposite Dale End Park, across the road from a supermarket, and just a gentle stroll besides the River Severn to the bars and restaurants.
Furnished to a high standard, the house benefits from a well-equipped kitchen, comfy couches, and we put duvets on our SilentNight beds. We like our guests to feel comfortable when they're here and so the property will have been professionally cleaned and you'll find fresh towels on the beds. Ironbridge is on the doorstep of the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area isn't too large to explore by car, in a weekend; or if you're keen on walking, take the week. Ironbridge is also close to Telford with regular buses from the car park around the corner. The house is within a few minutes from a well-stocked Cooperative Supermarket, Dale End Park, The Malthouse (live music on the weekends, (typically indie rock)), and The White Hart, which serves great food, wine and beer. The amenities of Telford has improved greatly over the last few years and now benefits from all of the chain restaurants, many shops, and a selection of high-specification cinemas.
Dale End Park is very well maintained by the local council. There's plenty of space for everyone and there's a great play area for kids. It's so good it makes me want to be a little younger than I am!

Much Wenlock is a special place. It is a beautiful old market town and is famous for the inspiration of the modern Olympic Games. In recognition of this, one of the mascots of the 2012 Olympic Games was named Wenlock. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with an abundance of walks from our town trails to our rural walks. We have the famous Ironbridge Gorge on our doorstep which has many fine museums ranging from our fine china museum to our real ' Victorian' town, Blists Hill. We are also very fortunate to have many National Trust properties close by with Attingham Hall and Sunnycroft to name just two.

CORONOVIRUS UPDATE: We want all our guests to have a safe stay at Carpenters Row, therefore we are implementing a 72 hour quarantine period for the cottage between all bookings. We will also be ensuring that our usual high quality cleaning includes sanitising of all surfaces. Please get in touch if you have any queries. Thank you.
Carpenters Row Cottage dates back to 1783 and is a Grade 2 listed building, part of the fascinating history of the Ironbridge Gorge. The cottage is comfortable and spacious. It sleeps 4 guests in two bedrooms, plus a further 2 guests on a well sprung sofa bed. The location is great for visiting the famous Ironbridge Museums, walking, cycling and sampling the many local pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Cottage is also an excellent base for exploring further afield in Shropshire and beyond. The space is flexible, practical and comfortable. The master bedroom has a lovely antique double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The twin room has two single beds which can be zipped together to create one super-king sized bed, so whether you are two couples or a family you will be well catered for. The double sofa bed in the open plan dining / living room provides yet more flexibility. Dogs We do allow responsible dog owners to bring their pets, but would ask that you restrict them to the downstairs open plan area using the child gates provided and do not allow them on the furniture. History of the property. Carpenters Row is an early example of accommodation built specifically by the Coalbrookdale Company to attract a workforce to its employment. The row originally consisted of eight cottages and two brew houses. The design of the row was symmetrical: numbers 1-5 were mirror images of numbers 6-10. Each house accommodated the workforce using a system of 'hot bedding', workers from one shift occupying the straw mattress beds from the other, approximately 15 persons per house. So at one point in history the three converted houses that you will be staying in would have once housed around 45 workers. Each house also performed a certain function: the brew-house, which is now the kitchen, housed the old cast iron pot which can now be found in the rear garden.
Carpenters Row Holiday Cottage is just a stones throw away from the Ironbridge Gorge Museum of Iron and Enginuity ( an interactive science and engineering muserum for children of all ages). The closest pub is just a few minutes walk and the area has lots of cycle routes and many lovely woodland walks starting from the doorstep of the cottage. The Museums use a passport ticket system, which on their website says.... ''The Annual Passport Ticket represents fantastic value. It allows unlimited daytime admission to all 10 Ironbridge Gorge Museums, during normal opening hours, so you can return as often as you like for one year. If after 12 months you have still not visited particular sites, you can return at any time in the future to make one free visit to the sites that you've missed'' Within walking distance of the cottage there are a wide range of pubs, cafes and restaurants in the Ironbridge Gorge area. The area also offers opportunities to fish, canoe, golf or visit the Greenwood Trust and learn traditional crafts such as making a coracle or a wicker basket. Exploring the wider area : Shrewsbury is 16 miles away (historic town centre with many independent shops and original timber framed buildings) The Wrekin hill is 5 miles Much Wenlock 6 miles (wonderful Priory and authentic ancient town centre) Church Stretton and the Long Mynd 26 miles (interesting shops and the starting point for walks in the South Shropshire hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) Ludlow 26 miles (beautiful ancient buildings, castle and known for being a 'foodie' mecca. See our airbnb guidebook for our recommendations. We think our cottage is perfect for a long weekend, a short midweek visit or a great base for a longer stay. We hope that you come to visit again to take full advantage of everything Shropshire has to offer.

We live in a semi detached house in a village 3 miles outside of shrewsbury. The house is cosy, with a fireplace and relaxed atmosphere which we try to generate. We have a garden and decking area. Also a car port where we store things and have table tennis and some exercise machines if you want to keep active during your stay. The house has a modern shared bathroom, a private double and single room for guests. As our guests you are free to use what ever you need during your stay.
we have a cosy quiet place with a fire place. The house is hot when the fire is litt. A brand new bathroom with shower and bath separate.
The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. It has a local pub and petrol station/shop.

Welcome to Owls Hollow, a beautiful 18th century 4 bed stone cottage situated just 7 miles outside of the picturesque market town Shrewsbury in the quiet, hamlet of Cound Moor. 4 bedrooms, two spacious doubles, one with en-suite, a single and a nursery with a cot bed. Family bathroom upstairs and cloakroom downstairs, kitchen complete with an Aga, sitting room with log burner, dining room and playroom. A large private mature garden, surrounded by Bullhill Brook. Highchair, and Wifi available.
It’s a beautiful old house, it looks big but it’s very cosy inside. It’s incredibly peaceful here, often the only noise you will hear are the birds. It’s 20 minutes from Shrewsbury town centre, and about 15 to the picturesque town of Much Wenlock. It’s the perfect spot to get away from it all, but close enough to civilisation should you want to ‘get back in!’
We are very close Concord Collage

A lovely, comfortable converted barn in a tranquil rural location just 5 miles from Shrewsbury, and yet only a short distance from Church Stretton, Ironbridge and Much Wenlock, all of which are only approximately 20 minutes away. The cottage has the added benefit of a hot tub which is wonderful for relaxing after a day of exploring! The cottage is fully equipped so is a true home from home with a little extra. An ideal location of visiting family at Concord College which is just 1 mile away.
This is a delightful end-terrace stone barn conversion. There are four conversions within the yard and the owners are close by in the historic farm house, with a small private equestrian yard in the beautiful village of Pitchford, in this peaceful and very undiscovered area of Shropshire. The cottage has been tastefully converted keeping character to the accommodation with the exposed beams and trusses, which combine with the modern features making it cosy and welcoming. The accommodation is entirely on the ground floor, the cottage has two bedrooms, a very well equipped kitchen and a relaxing sitting / dining room with a large TV. This gives you a fantastic area to relax and unwind after a busy day. There is a beautiful private garden with lawn overlooking the Shropshire countryside where you can sit with a glass of wine and relax, alternatively you have a courtyard which hosts the private hot tub which is a great for relaxing the aching muscles after a busy days exploring. There are two bedrooms, both on the groundfloor. There is one step from the living area up to the bedroom accommodation. 1 x king-sized bed and 1 x twin beds. Bathroom with shower, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room and separate dining area. Gas central heating with electric fire. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Free-view, Blu-ray, WiFi. Fuel and power included in rent. The bed linen and towels are also included in the rent. A highchair is available on request. Off road parking is available for 4 cars. There is a stone garden shed which is lockable and ideal for storing bicycles. The side garden hosts a lawn, portable BBQ and wonderful views over the rolling Shropshire Countryside as far as The Wrekin (approximately 8 miles). The rear private courtyard hosts the hot tub and patio furniture. The only access to the private courtyard is by the owners family. Sorry, no pets and no smoking on the premises. Nearest village shop is 1 mile, supermarket 4.5 miles and a pub 4 miles.
There is so much to see in Shropshire including RAF Cosford Museum, Battlefield Falconry Centre, British Ironworks Centre, The Quarry, The Danna Prison - Jailhouse Tours, Blists Hill Victorian Town and Cardingmill Valley just to mention a few which have been given a Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor.

You & Julie know that south Shropshire is the perfect place to unwind with wonderful restaurants and places of interest, fabulous walking and cycling, and a landscape that inspired A.E.Housman and Mary Webb. Wenlock studios are the perfect base from which to explore whatever the time of year, and we wanted to create somewhere where we ourselves would like to stay.
