  • Eric was a perfect host; he left clear instructions for arrival, was there to offer us a warm welcome, provided great recommendations, and had a lovely, cozy home right on the lake. He even made us delicious molasses cookies and had coffee waiting when we woke. We couldn't have asked for a better locations - close enough to Duluth, but also just a short drive to Gooseberry, Split Rock Lighthouse, and Two Harbors. The room was overlooked a quiet forest with many animal visitors. I can't remember the last time I had such a quiet, dark, restful sleep.

  • Eric is the best! He's a very welcoming host, his cabin is so cozy, and the location is amazing with Lake Superior right in the backyard.

    Robyn2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Eric's home is warm and open. Amidst woods, across from the Lake--I enjoyed the solitude, as well as conversations with Eric--a fellow artist and friendly person. I was comfortable cooking in his kitchen. I was lucky to have both sunshine and a thunder storm -- I could hear the lake from my bedroom. The only reason I checked that the place met my expectations, rather than exceed them, is that I expected it to be as lovely as it is. A wonderful space for contemplation.

    sandy2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here gave great energy and privacy. The location is amazing and Eric is great with communication and his home is beautiful. 10/10 would recommend this space if you want nice seclusion, enjoy the beauty of nature and a great host!

  • Eric is a great host. The location is perfect. Just outside Duluth and amidst an amazing landscape. The house is like a cabin, and super cozy. Eric's warmth also makes the stay wonderful. I hope to stay again!

    Ben2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Eric warmly welcomed us into his beautiful home and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. Being cat people, we loved his cat, Tawny. Eric generously offered us a handmade cat toy to bring home after he found out we had two cats. We were only able to stay one night, but Eric suggested many places to explore in Duluth. In the morning, we had a cup of tea and great conversation with Eric before we had to leave. The location is absolutely perfect. Located directly across from the shore, we found ourselves in a quiet and peaceful part of the Duluth area. There is a porch on the top of the house to look over the water, and you will find people surfing right off the beach (year round). Wildlife is abundant and can be seen right outside the bedroom. We only have good things to say about our visit. Our only regret is that we were unable to stay longer.

    Ally2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my trip to Eric's little chunk of Paradise!! I would highly recommend staying here. Eric was an excellent host. Engaging in wonderful, insightful conversation but never intruding on my space or quiet time. This was my first AirBnb experience but, based on this weekend, certainly not my last. I look forward to getting back to Eric's this summer with my kayak!! Thanks, Eric - you saved Christmas!!!

    Dan2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautiful along with the property. Staying right by the shore and being able to see the sunset on the lake is absolutely gorgeous. It's important that you are able to stay in a comfortable environment when out of town and this house is perfect for that.

Set up exclusively for guests, the bedroom features a queen memory foam mattress with cozy cotton bedding and a desk with tea & coffee. Plus bath towels, 30 mbps Wi-Fi, use of kitchen, and more! Easy access to house via your own personal key code. Located in a quiet neighborhood walking distance to downtown, Chester Park, Lakefront, Canal Park. Is the room booked for the days you want? Need 2 bedrooms? Send me a message, I may be able to accommodate.
My home is immaculate and super comfortable. It's full of 100-year-old original charm, yet updated to modern standards, and I am the 4th owner. The location is perfect: quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to everything... lakefront, parks, downtown, lift bridge. Just within 5 blocks there's two local bakeries, the farmer's market, a coffee & sandwich cafe, grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, hardware store, bottle shop, and a natural foods market to name a few. Why stay in the middle of nowhere when you can have a quiet and restful night's sleep close to everything? The bedroom features a queen 10-inch memory foam mattress on a solid wood base with cozy percale cotton sheets, premium jersey cotton covered pillows, and a soft cotton duvet. Lighting is warm LED and dimmable to suit your preferences. Comfy radiator heat will keep you warm at night. All of my guest rooms are set up solely for hosting, so there is everything that you need and nothing that you don't. There's also a work desk and chairs (with comfy cushion), a power strip with USB charging, an electric kettle, an assortment of herbal teas, coffee, sugar, and half-and-half. Bath towels and eco-friendly single use shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap are provided too. A clothes iron and hair dryer are also available if needed. The bathroom is amazing and has been completely renovated. There's a tile shower with super hot water. The shower head is high up so you won't have to worry about banging your head on it. It's like standing under rain. A towel warmer is installed on the wall. Please note there is only one bathroom for the entire house so you will be sharing it with me and other guests. I check it daily for cleanliness and keep it to hotel standards (my personal stuff is put away). If there is ANYTHING you need while you're enjoying your stay here, please let me know. I want this to be a first class experience at an economy rate. It is my goal to make you feel at home and comfortable so you can focus on enjoying the Duluth area and not worry about the little things!
This is a fantastic neighborhood. It's very quiet and safe with low traffic and within a 15 minute walk of downtown and another 5 minutes to Canal Park. Portland Square Park is less than a block away and there are many great businesses about 5 blocks away (see the other details in my listing).
  • Very clean and private.

    Jan2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This room was great for the price! The bed was very comfortable, and the common spaces were well kept. Not much to complain about, except the walls are pretty thin. We were a bit more aware of neighboring couples than we would've liked to be.

  • Ben has a great place and is an outstanding host!

    Jason2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed some unexpected touches; an umbrella and make up mirror. Provided toiletries. Very clean. Comfortable memory foam mattress.

    Karen2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ben is well traveled and has taken time and consideration in planning the space accordingly. He really has thought of many small touches that could enhance your stay. Many shops, restaurants, and bars are a short walk. Ben has also done a very thorough job of being detailed in his description of what to expect at his place. If you AirBnB with any regularity you will find this is NOT always the case.

    Brad2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's place is great! The beds and pillows are super comfy! The coffee and tea was much appreciated. Highly recommend a stay at Ben's!

    Lloyd2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's home was clean and tastefully appointed. My wife and I stayed for a weekend, and our favorite part was the location, we walked everywhere and found we were never more than 20 minutes from anything. We had a blast and would definitely stay with Ben again!

    brady2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's place is perfect. He has thought of everything and really designed the bedrooms to accommodate travelers. This is now my go-to spot for visiting Duluth several times a year. And the beds really are as great as he says. :)

  • Super accueil ! Malgré que je un anglais très sommaire. Je recommande pour les routards explorant le nord des USA.

  • The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful at night. I arrived much later than I had thought, but they left the porch light on for me. I met Heather the following morning and she was very kind and helpful. She lent me an umbrella during my stay and helped me with any questions or special requests. The cats were friendly. The bathroom was private for me during my stay.

    Sarah2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was very warm and friendly. I felt very comfortable in her and Randy's home. I was extra appreciative of her letting us use her hose to rinse off our muddy tent from the night before. P.S. Heather & Randy have two cute friendly cats that I also enjoyed!

    Corey2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Randy and Heather were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. They have a cozy home and make you feel just like family. We enjoyed playing with their daughter's puppy and sharing our trip. Our stay in their home made the rainy weekend trip feel cozy.

    Brittany2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming, supportive couple, cute kitties, and conveniently located.

    kalei2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed checking in and visiting with Heather, which ended up being the only time I saw her as we were busy every day and left very early on check out day. Their accommodations fit our needs for this trip perfectly. The cats were entertaining and not a problem, even though we are not "cat people." At the time we stayed, one of the beds was more firm than the other, and so something to be aware of. We switched the second night and both slept better. The full bathroom was right next door to our bedroom so very convenient. We found it to be a very pleasant and peaceful place to stay.

    Deborah2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, and I love their cats:)

    奇伟2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and Randy were an excellent host! We arrived late and left early the next morning and they were very accommodating. The two beds in the room were a bit loud. I'm not sure if there was a plastic protector on the mattresses or not. Anytime one person shifted or moved it would wake the other up. The two cats were fun and cute as well.

My place has a great view of the lake and is walking distance to downtown, Lake Walk, Bayfront, restaurants, coffee shops, entertainment. My place is good for couples and business travelers. Enjoy coffee or glass of wine on the porch watching ships arriving and leaving the harbor.

  • My second stay with Barbara was wonderful. My husband got to tag along and he absolutely loved it. It was the perfect getaway. I have the pleasure of staying with Barbara soon again! I would recommend Barbara's place to solo travelers and couples!

    Amy2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place is great. Cozy and comfortable and close to downtown (great exercise walking back up the hill!). One note for taller gentlemen:. Headroom in the shower is about 6'4". I know this because I am 6'5" tall. Not a problem, just something to be aware of.

    Paul2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara was there to greet us when she arrived. She is a sweet lady! She was very knowledgeable of Duluth! She provided an excellent recommendation for dinner. Much of the city downtown is walking distance. But remember this is Duluth....there is always a hill to climb!

    Randy2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place was fantastic. It was very cozy and Barbara thought of everything to make our stay perfect. By the notes in the guest book she is very good at what she does and everyone seems very satisfied staying at her place.

    Ryan2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Barbara's. Barbara is very helpful and welcoming. The location is so convenient, only a jog down to the downtown area and to the shore. Plus, spectacular view of shoreline on the porch during sunset. Would highly recommend staying with them!

  • This lower level space was exactly as pictured! Very clean, had everything we could need for our stay. Perfect for visiting duluth with our two young daughters. Very short drive to all Duluth's attractions. Quiet neighborhood. Very comfortable king sized bed. Netflix available for our girls to watch a show while we made breakfast each morning. Only downside was overhead noise from upper unit tenants walking around- seems to depend on who is above you though, as we harldly heard the couple that was there the first two nights of our stay.

    Danielle2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, private place perfect for your home base with a small family while visiting the Duluth and North Shore areas.

    Dave2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great getaway weekend here. The space was larger than expected and in excellent shape. We had courteous and timely communications with our host. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to come back in the future.

    Robby2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is lovely and off the beaten path, yet close enough to Duluth to do all the touristy things. The owners are very accommodating and quick to respond to any inquiries. The beds are insanely comfortable. The only downfall is that the owners have two young children that wake up and run around overhead at 7am. Other than that, it is a perfect place to stay!

Permit# PL 15-103. Only 10 minutes from downtown, this home overlooks the St. Louis river. Perfect for fishing (the boat launch and fishing pier are 50 yds away) viewing the fall colors, skiing (Spirit Mt. is nearby) and hiking the many nearby trails
It has a deck off the kitchen that has a beautiful view of the St. Louis river. Its especially scenic with the fall colors. Located only 8 miles from downtown.
I love the scenery. the view toward Spirit Mt. is beautiful and I especially love the view of the river. The fall colors are spectacular !
  • Simply put this was a great spot to stay, beautiful views from the kitchen and porch and everything was set up for us including the first rack of pool and all of the fire places. I hate to give a good review only because I want it available for our next trip to Duluth. If you hate hotels this is the spot to stay. Only ten minutes from downtown Duluth and only a 30mn drive to all of the over crowded hiking spots. Drive a little further and you'll find seclusion. Next time I'm bringing my boat. I had a hard time getting on the Internet, asked Larry if he knew any secrets to it but it wasn't working, Larry offered to get on the phone with the cable company but we weren't there for the Internet so I told him not to bother but it did prove that Larry will do anything he could to accommodate. Thanks again Larry. We'll be back.

  • We had such a good time at Larry's ! The place was perfect for 6 people, clean and we loved the view on the lake. Larry welcomed us very nicely and was very helpful when giving us directions for beautiful places. I hope my English is not too bad! I recommand this location for everyone who wants some fresh and natural air :) Thank you Larry !

  • We had another terrific stay at the house, thank you!

    Larry2015-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Larry's home was the best Airbnb we have stayed at to date. The quiet location with the river setting was just great, and sitting on the sunny deck for breakfast was a special treat. It rained the second morning ___ but that too was great (we are from drought stricken California). The home is accurately depicted in the photos, everything you need was there: kitchen, bathroom, living room. Duluth is a wonderful city to visit and Larry's home is a great all seasons place to stay, highly recommend.

    Doug2015-09-17T00:00:00Z

  • Larry, our host, was great. We travel all over USA and we have never stay at any better place than Larry's home. We were getting in town really late and Larry let our son pick up the keys. Clean, kitchen will stocked & great view. We enjoyed our long visit. Will be back next Aug. Ron & Sharon

  • We only needed to spend one night at Julie's place, and we arrived a little later than we had wanted, but Julie & Phil were very accommodating to us. They were pleasant and inviting, the room was quaint and nicely decorated. It was a pleasant surprise to be met at the door by their dog and "host" dogs, as we are dog-people! We left early the next day, so did not get to spend much of any time with them, but would recommend them and their lovely space to anyone needing a little quiet comfort.

  • Penrose Place is exactly how it is described and so much more. My husband and I were able to spend one night but would have loved more time. Dawn provided so many extra amenities and thoughtful touches it was more like an upscale Bed and Breakfast experience but very private. It was safe, secure, clean, comfortable and overall a relaxing, lovely space. Highly recommend. The Host also worked with us when our schedule changed ( within their guidelines of course), and we were promptly refunded with no issues whatsoever.

    Bonnie2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We were just a little wary of how renting a single room instead of a house would go. But this place was amazing. We never even had to disturb Dawn to get in as she had provided us with a code to get inside. Dawn had a personal welcome note for us on the chalkboard. Everything was clean as can be. The towels and bedding were all so comfortable and made our stay that much more enjoyable. The little things that she provided for us were the highlight. We wish we could have had just a little more time to stay, as the space was just so homey. Would be a great choice for a little getaway with downtown Duluth less than 10 minutes away.

  • The Penrose House completely blew away our expectations. From handmade soaps to homemade scones and even instructions on how to have the proper afternoon tea! My wife and I felt transported back into time (in an amazing way) but of course this fictional past also had a Keurig and Netflix! Dawn's communication was perfect. I even forgot a sweater in the apartment and she very kindly agreed to mail it back to me. We can't wait to come back for another stay!

    Cory2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Her place was an absolute dream from the decor to the hospitality. It was a great first experience doing this type of this and I️ highly recommend her in the future. We will definitely be back!

    Hope2017-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not only was the suite charming, but what made our stay at the penrose a five star experience was the thoughtful touches in the room: from the loaded snack counter, to the oil diffuser to the heated mattress pads and handmade soaps and convenient “necessity” bags! I will be recommending to friends and family, and would definitely consider staying again!

    Joelle2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty and quaint! We chose this location for a quick getaway to Duluth/Bentleyville and it was perfect! Dawn's homemade scones with jam and cream are the perfect touch! Would definitely stay again in the future.

  • Very cute place and she provides everything you could need! Highly recommend!

    Jess2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved Dawn’s place. First of all, the room had cozy and warm atmosphere with beautiful interior and all the amenities provided. It was one of the best airbnb places I have been to, and I would definitely choose this place again if I were to visit this area again. This room made our trip perfect!

  • Amazing place to stay for an evening or three. Very clean, very cool location, close to good eats. I am a entertainment guy, when I stay at hotels I make sure there is a modern flat screen, HD channels, WiFi and a great mattress. This place has all of that! I like the feeling of escaping our daily grind, if only for a night. This place did that for my wife and I. I will be staying again and I have already recommended to friends. Thank you.

  • We had a wonderful time at Mike and Brenda's. The place was well kept and was a welcome place to come back to after a long day of exploring the North Shore. Brenda was very warm and welcoming when we arrived and made us feel right at home.

    Jonathan2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Brenda’s place was perfect for a cozy north shore weekend with friends. We honestly spent most of our time in the apartment! It was clean, comfortable, and perfect for playing games, watching tv, cooking, etc. Brenda and Mike are fabulous hosts; we loved briefly connecting with each of them during our stay, and got some great tips for a walk along Lake Superior and a great lunch spot. Thanks for a great weekend up north! It was very, very hard to leave.

    Ashley2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very enjoyable one-night stay. We were deeply impressed by the hosts' hospitality. The rooms are very clean and spacious. We look forward to having a longer stay there in the future.

  • We had a lovely stay at the swanson's! The apartment was fully equipped with anything we might possibly need, including binoculars and a guide to wildflowers and birds! The property is gorgeous, private, and cozy. A perfect place to stay for our midweek date-cation! We reserved last minute and were very pleased. Americinn two harbors was going to charge 160$ for a room! This was WAY better. Thanks guys!

  • Excellent location to see several state parks and the wonderful coastline! It was perfect for two adults traveling with two young kids and a dog. Very quiet and peaceful! The hosts were very friendly! Would stay again if visiting the area in the future!

  • We had a great time staying at Mike and Brenda's apartment! They made us feel super welcome as soon as we arrived, and had great suggestions for local hikes and adventures. The apartment itself was beautiful--an amazing view of the great north woods from the window by the table, and a well-appointed bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked, which helped us greatly as we cooked all our meals there. Hope to come back sometime in the winter!

Come enjoy our vacation rental! All new in 2017. We're in a great neighborhood - close to Duluth's Spirit Mountain skiing & biking, the retail district, and lots of things to do and see! The apartment has a large living room, huge deck, full kitchen, full bath, and two separate bedrooms. This is the upper unit in the building. As such, this isn't an appropriate space for anyone with little kids that run around - as it would ruin the experience for the guests below.
This is a fantastic space in a safe neighborhood that is close to everything. Everything is renovated and in great condition in this apartment, vacation space. It is an upper unit (with stairs). As such, it's not handicapped accessible. If you'd like to rental both units in the building, the other can be found here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7920809
Hermantown is Duluth's upscale suburb - near to everything the area has to offer. By car: 8 minutes to Spirit Mountain's main entrance 12 minutes to Canal Park & Downtown Duluth 10 minutes to the Miller Hill Mall and the Shopping district 12 minutes to the Duluth International Airport
  • Great place. Very cozy and comfortable. About 10 minutes from downtown. Nice and quiet, with a great wrap around porch to enjoy the outdoors too. Great overall value

  • Beautiful home in a great location! Very convenient to Duluth and Two Harbors where we spent most of our time. The reading nook and the electric fireplace gave the space an extra touch of home feeling. Bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. Kelly is a great host and gave very clear instructions for check-in. We will definitely be returning in the summer when we can enjoy the green trees surrounding the property and the nice wrap around deck! Thanks for a great stay, Kelly!

Rather than a hotel room we wanted a couple of bedrooms and a living space with kitchen for morning coffee. Easy check in, clean, quiet and minutes from UMD and downtown Duluth. Perfect.

  • This location is beautiful and quiet. There was a very nice walking trail and creek directly behind the apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There is no television in the apartment so be prepared for this, however, we weren't in the apartment enough to miss one. There are so many wonderful places to visit in Duluth you don't want to be cooped up watching t.v. in the room :)

  • What a lovely, comfortable, and peaceful apartment! Angie was a great communicator before, during and after our stay. There was plenty of space for a family of four. Kitchen and bathroom were a good size and well-equipped. The kids had a terrific time exploring the backyard and woods. We also enjoyed cooking s'mores in the fire ring.

    Laura2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. The location was convenient for our needs and very restful after some long work days. Our hosts were very accommodating, offering extra services because we were staying more than a week. The accommodations were spacious, well appointed, and tastefully outfitted. We were very pleased and hope to return many times.

    Martha2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, it was the hottest day of the year so far and sitting next to the creek with your feet in the water reading a book was cool and relaxing. We did not have power for the entire trip, but still enjoyed the stay. Hosts were very generous due to the lack of power.

    Ross2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angie and Danny's place was an ideal retreat for our family. Our active four-year-old was busy all week in the yard, on the "beach", on the bridge and in the woodsy play areas. Also, I can imagine coming back alone or just with my husband to enjoy the peaceful woods and creek. The place has a great feel to it.

    Sarah2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Angie and Danny were very accommodating, and great hosts. When we decided to stay an extra night they did not hesitate to allow us to extend our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Duluth and it was topped off by the wonderful apartment provided by Angie and Danny. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area!

Lovely Lake Superior cabin near the French River. NE of Duluth on Scenic North Shore Dr. Enjoy this cabins wooded setting, year round fishing, hike or stroll to one of North Shores Best Restaurants. Note; Not child friendly for smaller children 3 - 12, do to a ship ladder to loft.
This peaceful airy 1 bedroom cabin is set back from road in a wooded setting, has a full modern kitchen with a dishwasher and fridge w/ice maker, WIFI, a full bath with claw foot tub and a shower. The open living/dinning area has a wood stove, a large TV (with dish), 2 comfortable recliners, and a full futon for 2 additional guests. During the warmer months there is a hammock on the deck as well as a gas grill and picnic table located under the trees close to the cabin. Because of the ladder to this loft we DO NOT consider our cabin to be child friendly for children 3-12yrs.
  • Nancy and Dave's place is a great place to stay at while visiting Duluth and the surrounding area. Check-in was very smooth and the cabin was clean and comfortably housed 3 adults. Dave was very helpful at check-in and at providing information about the area. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the Duluth area.

  • An excellent cabin that had great access to both there North shore and to Duluth itself. Very close to the famous Scenic Cafe as well. It had everything you would need for a nice, relaxing vacation. We never saw the American Martin, but we did see a beautiful white tailed doe. A great place.

  • This cabin is everything you could wish an AirBnB to be. Quit, clean, well-appointed, and full of charm (not to mention blazingly fast wifi!). The perfect rustic-yet-comfortable cabin. Easy access to excellent nearby restaurants if you don't want to go into Duluth, but the drive to Duluth is only about 10 minutes along a very scenic road. An extremely pleasant stay.

  • The location is great as it is between Two Harbors and Duluth. Make sure to go to the Vanilla Bean Cafe for breakfast and the New Scenic Cafe for lunch or dinner. Be sure t make reservations for dinner at the New Scenic Cafe. The cabin is cozy and was just the right space for my husband and I who were looking for a quiet relaxing weekend away.

  • The three of us had a great time staying st Dave's place. Very close to Duluth and Two Harbors, we could get to both places easily. Dave recommended the Vanilla Bean in TH snd it was very good. The cabin was cozy and we had a couple of friends over for drinks one night snd there was plenty of seating. We had enough dishes, there were good dvd movie choiced, along with Netflix and basic cable. The cabin wss clean and had nice touches. We had a great conversation with Dave, who is very personable. What a way to get away! Thanks so much for your hospitality, Dave! We would definitely return if it was available next time!

Wake up in secluded natural beauty! Custom built by local craftsmen, this one of a kind log cabin is in a completely private wooded setting. The cabin sits in the middle of the forest, and is just up the hill from Lake Superior. In addition to the cabin, there is a large newer wood burning sauna available for use as well as a private camping area with a fire pit and creek running alongside.
The cabin loft bed sleeps 2. A cot is also available for a third guest. This is a rustic experience. There is no running water in the cabin, there is a jug of clean water for washing, cooking, etc. Limited bottled drinking water will also be available in the cabin. Bringing extra drinking water is recommended. There is a frequently cleaned, rented outhouse for your use.
The cabin sits just outside of Duluth, a two minute drive to Kitchi Gammi Park. Lake Superior is visible from the driveway. The nearest grocery store in Duluth is 5 minutes away. The beginning of the lake walk is 5 minutes away. Canal Park is 15 minutes away. Two Harbors is 15 minutes away. Very close to Duluth and Two Harbors restaurants and attractions. Despite this proximity to the city, this place feels like another world.
  • Good location, beautiful setting. Cabin is great. Very clean and stocked with amenities as advertised. Well be back for sure!

  • Overall, a very unique space and a fun experience for a couple or solo adventurer with a laid back style! Nick and Beth were attentive hosts, and it was a great location in relation to Lake Superior beaches and outdoor day trips. We especially loved the sauna--AMAZING--and the lofted bed (which we likened to sleeping in a grown treehouse... ;)

  • This was the most pleasant airbnb I've had yet! The cabin went above and beyond expectations. It was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. • Nice clean room quick access to superior and Duluth. Great little place to hang our hats while we explored the surrounding areas.

  • Our stay was amazing. The new boutique motel was much better than expected. It was very easy to find and get in (access code). Once inside we noticed the cleanliness and attention to detail that was placed in the rooms. We found everything we needed and were even able to make a little bit of cuban coffee that the host left for us. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom very clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again. 10/10.

  • Fluffy towels. Comfy bed. Smelled so nice and fresh. Everything was wonderful!

  • Always a pleasure to stay at Superior Bay! Will always look to see if available when I need to work up in the superior location!

    Laurie2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice facility. Clean, modern facilities. Good choice of TV channels. Comfortable bed and couch. Near the at/lake, but not close enough to see it. Convenient location to downtown Superior, yet also convenient to Duluth.

    Jay2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice, clean, well-decorated room in a location that is not in the middle of the Duluth activity, so it is quiet, but it has easy access to the freeway and is only minutes away from downtown, canal park and the harbor. It was nice to have the mini-kitchen setup with fridge, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker and all the basics of utensils, dishes and glasses. Restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store and fast food are close by, too, even though the location feels residential in nature.

    Michael2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as pictured. Clean and inviting space. Easy, and convenient access.

House is two blocks to Lakewalk entrance, six blocks to the Rose Garden at Leif Erikson Park, and one mile to Fitgers. Many food establishments are within walking distance. There are lake views from the bedroom, front porch, kitchen, and back yard. Room has a brand new, queen size, memory foam gel mattress manufactured according to green standards. Free WIFI. Free LD on land line to Canada, Mexico, and the continental U.S. The bedroom is 9' x 16' plus some closet space.
The close proximity of the lake allows you to experience its many moods. One day it is calm and looks like glass, another day is is brilliant blue and the sun is glinting off the waves like a thousand diamonds. Still other days it is dark and moody, with deep swells that crash onto the shore.
  • Lauree is an excellent host. Her home is lovely, and it’s perfectly located with easy access to just about everything!

  • I would recommend this place to anyone! 10/10

  • Nice quiet place with a friendly accommodating hsot

    Emerson2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay, I had a bad experience with airbnb in New York so I was bit skeptical about booking this room. Lauree exceeded my expectations, She had Fresh towels available, Room and toilet were cleaned. She offered my Breakfast. Overall it was a nice experience.

    Dulanjan2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Lauree's listing over the weekend for a wedding, and it was fantastic. The interior has a very classic, old-lake-superior style that is both rustic and lovely. The location is perfect for quick access to the lakefront and downtown businesses. In addition, Lauree is very personable and welcoming.

    Whitney2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Lauree's beautiful home immensely! She was kind, gracious and easy going host. I felt very relaxed and safe in her home. The bedroom was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I especially liked the 2 large windows that were easily opened (with screens) when the weather was good. The breeze was lovely! I liked the location of her home because you could see Lake Superior from the porch and it was super quick to drive downtown, to the lakewalk, Canal Park or Sir Ben's - my new favorite hangout in Duluth. Lauree went out of her way to offer me food and that was an unexpected treat! Although she was very friendly, I had all the privacy I wanted! All in all, a very nice stay!

    Miriam2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stay with Laurie if you're looking for a gracious host and just need simple sleeping arrangements. The bed is new and is super comfortable! Very good cost/benefit ratio, especially during the busy (and expensive!) Fall foliage weekends in Duluth.

    Brennan2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lauree's home was convenient and comfortable. i was able to "check myself in" without her being home which made timing my arrival easier. She was very prompt in communications, and very personable and hospitable. We had a great chat the first evening when she got home, and went out for what I thought would be a quick breakfast on my last morning (2 hours later, I was on my way up the North Shore). So glad I booked with Lauree, and would do so again without any qualms on future visits!

Rustic country feel in this two story apartment on a dirt road.
Close (15 minutes) to downtown. Lots of hiking biking fishing areas close (10+ minutes) large kitchen with glasses, plates, silverware, pots and pans. Bathroom (upstairs) has a deep bathtub with a shower head. Wood stove in the living room Provides warm heat and electric baseboards if your uncomfortable with a fire.
  • The perfect little retreat for if you're wanting a cozy and quite place to hole-up. Holly had a fire going for us when we got there. We planned to do some holiday cooking while we were there and the kitchen was pretty well-stocked with pots and pans and utensils. A hot bath in that deep tub was everything I've needed. I feel rested and recharged after having spent the weekend at this little cottage-like retreat.

    Melanie2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's guesthouse is such a cozy place! The kitchen is full of pots and pans for cooking. The weather was very cold during our stay, but we had plenty of firewood to keep the place warm. Holly is great with communication and always reassures you that she is available if you need her. Thanks for everything Holly!

  • This is a very warm and welcoming space. Perfect for weekend getaways on the north shore. The location is easy to find, but still feels secluded in the woods. A short drive to downtown Duluth (10-15 minutes) which has a great selection of restaurants and things to do. The hosts are very accommodating and respond quickly. They had a fire going in the wood stove when we arrived which was an excellent touch!

    Jack2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Holly’s cabin was clean, spacious, and in a great and secluded location. Great price and value as well. Loved the wood burning stove!

  • Great spot for a weekend away!! Cozy and private.

    Patrick2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's place is a great cabin just far enough out from Duluth to be in the country but close enough to be convenient. Beautiful scenic property, cabin is rustic yet well furnished; great kitchen, nice sunny bedroom, and a great woodstove! (Yes, there is also non-woodstove heat if this is not your thing) As Holly notes, the bed and bath are on the second floor. Holly and Mike are welcoming hosts that communicate quickly and were really friendly and helpful. A great overall experience!

    Mark2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice rustic option not far from all the places you might wish to visit in Duluth. Comfy bed and items available if needed from host. Towels, coffee, bottled water, items to make fire outside in a fire pit. Host welcomed suggestions regarding experience and was quick with replies.

  • Ben's cozy place is perfect, with incredible views overlooking downtown Duluth! We loved feeling secluded, up in the woods, but still being just a few minutes from Canal Park. The house was clean and so cute, and Ben and Emily were great hosts - making sure our check in went smoothly and that we had everything we needed.

We are 3 and 5 minutes from the Mount Royal and Bluestone shopping centers. • Très bonnes prestations, très accueillants.

  • John was very helpful with recommendations of places to go and eat. They went above and beyond meeting our needs even letting us use their binoculars for several days. The bed was extremely comfortable. We didn't see much of them unless we needed them, then John was right there! The deck was wonderful and had a nice view of the lake from it. A great selection of games.

    Denise2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • John and Nora's place was perfect! I was in Duluth for the weekend with my sister and a friend and it comfortably slept the three of us. They provided us with granola bars, coffee, and waters. John also sent a list of recommendations before we arrived and they did not disappoint. We even ordered out one night so we could enjoy eating dinner on the back deck overlooking Lake Superior. Check in and communication was easy. Overall, We had an excellent stay and would not only recommend others stay as well, but would also love to go back sometime! Thanks again!

  • This place was amazing! We got exactly what we wanted - a quiet place to stay up North at an affordable rate. John greeted us when we got there and gave us everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. We had our own private enterance, private bathroom and even a TV room with games. This was better than stating at a hotel. We will definitely be back!

    Nicquie2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you John and Nora for opening your home to us. Your place was very comfortable and cozy. Beautiful view of the lake. Nice amenities. John went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.

  • We stayed at John and Nora's with our 5 month old on a house hunting trip to Duluth. We were very comfortable. The basement apartment is cozy with plenty of room. The keurig, microwave and mini fridge allowed us to eat in for breakfast and some lunches, which was great. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. Everything was very clean, and the view was fabulous! We had to borrow a pack and play from a friend since they didn't have one, but that was no big deal. Other than that, they had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again!

    Pamela2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at John and Nora's home. We felt welcomed and cared for, including eating and hiking tips for the area. The space was perfect for us (2 guests). We used many of the amenities - coffee/cocoa, microwave popcorn, refrigerated left-overs, watched Netflix via HDMI connection with our laptop, and enjoyed the beautiful lake view from the room and also from the back yard deck. The location was also perfect for us, as it was only 5 minutes from the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), which we had many scheduled appointments over a few days. There are many options for eating out and John provided a large list of their personal favorites. Some hiking trails are also just 5 minutes away. We plan to visit again in the future!

    Mark2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • John and Nora have a very cozy and convenient space. The private, walkout basement is large and comfortable. We stayed here with our 4 kids. There were 6 of us total and the area was plenty large. We would definitely recommend this space for people with kids and anyone needing a comfortable place to stay. The snacks and the water bottles as well as the myriad of board games were a nice touch. The complimentary wi-fi was fast and easy-to-access. Also, we had car trouble and arrived very late. John graciously stayed up until past midnight to get us situated and helped us bring our belongings inside.

This little blue cottage is located on the bay side of Park Point, 2 blocks from Canal Park. Poke your head out the front door to see if a ship is sailing under the Lift Bridge!
We bought this century old, crooked little cottage, to fix up and share! It is a short walk to Canal Park and Public Beach Access. Right through the backyard and around the corner is a charming little rocky cove on the bay; overlooking the Harbor and Bayfront Festival Park!
Do not rent this place for the view. Location! Location! Location!
  • What a lovely little cabin in a perfect location! So cool to be over on the other side of the lift bridge! The place was very clean and would host a family with the extra bedroom. We were within walking distance of the downtown area, Canal Park, and were a short walk to the beautiful water! The host was super friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with! Highly recommended for a couple's getaway, family getaway, or for a group of friends going to see Duluth!

Nikki was a great with communication and making us feel welcome. Will be the first pace I look for in future trips to Duluth.

  • We grabbed up this little cottage for a couple day stay in Duluth for a conference at the convention center. It was PERFECT! Beautiful, super stylish, personal, and well equipped. Quick and lovely five minute walk over the bridge brings you to tons of restaurants and shops in the heart of canal park. Nikki responded sooo quickly and really thought of everything (reminder to bring passwords for smart tv, details about parking, easy check-in process, etc.). We will be back!

  • The lodging space is impeccably decorated, sparkling clean, with little touches that made the room feel like a stylish studio apartment. The dishes and coffee in the cupboard were very much appreciated. The Yahtzee game provided was a great way to end our day. This will be my first go to for over nights while in Duluth.

  • Maria's home was clean and cozy. The home and view were beautiful and restful - a perfect getaway for our weekend. We took a drive to Duluth for an evening but spent most of our time playing games, enjoying the lake and resting. Maria responded quickly to questions and was thoughtful and inviting. We hope to return!!

You’ll love EnneRoc because it's quiet and a few blocks from the historic Glensheen Mansion. The Lakewalk access is across the street where it is a 5 mile round trip east to Lester Park, Mountain Bike trails and Brighton Beach. If you go west it is a 5 mile round trip down to Canal Park, the DECC and Bayfront Park. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. I have a brand new puppy so he will be with us.This listing is City approved. Licence #PLAHS16O7-001
The Congdon Neighborhood is quite and close to many Duluth hot spots.
  • Correne is a very nice, easy going host. She has a great dog. Her house is a very peaceful place to stay, we were there when there was snow and we really enjoyed our stay in a little winter wonderland. It was close to the lake and we enjoyed the nice tea and coffee's she made available for us plus the opportunity to prepaire breakfast. Very nice shower and comfortable bed.

  • I had a wonderful time staying here. Correne was very communicative and hospitable. I would definitely love to stay again.

  • A lovely, clean and warm place to stay. One gets a real feeling of Minnesota hospitality in this home and neighborhood.

  • It was a great space, location, etc. I walked to happy hour-dinner at Blackwoods which was super cool. Great hospitality with bread, juice, yogurt, toast, coffee provided. Would highly recommend and will be staying again :)

  • Location, location, location. We were so close to everything. Downtown was a nearby drive for restaurants and my husband's hobbies of ships and trains. If the weather had been warmer we surely would have used the nearby trail that hugs the coast of the lake.

    Sue2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home! Correne is great at staying in touch and is a wonderful host!

    Claire2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, Roth and I had a wonderful stay at Correne's lovely home. We had to check out early to get my husband to the Skyline shuttle. Correne was a gracious host and even offered us breakfast items. We had a quiet cozy room with a private bathroom. Her dog was friendly and even cuddled with us as we relaxed in the living room.

We are putting our vacation house here to rent as your vacation house too. :) This brand new down unit is in a very convenient location. Within few mins drive to downtown and lake. Very quite neighborhood. We just remodeled the whole unit, with brand new furnished and stainless appliances. Granite countertop. Bath tub as well.
    Down unit!
  • Nice, clean, well appointed place to stay in a very easy to get to location (just a bit off of HW35). Rita has done a wonderful job renovating the space. Seeing pictures of the upstairs, I want to come back and stay there too! The upstairs looks amazing and is priced only a couple more dollars a night more than this lower-level unit. Parking in the driveway of the unit seemed kind of tight, but there was always plenty os parking on the street so we opted to park there and let the upstairs renters use the driveway. Rita was gracious in allowing us to check in a bit earlier so we could drop off our items. This flexibility was very nice. Things to note: As this is an older home, it was easy to hear those upstairs -- however, they were respectful and quiet after 10 p.m. so this did not bother us -- but if you are expecting a super quiet space (of if those staying upstairs are not respectful), this may be concerning. The kitchen is a bit more like an upgraded bar area -- there is a fridge/freezer, toaster, toaster-oven, coffee maker, crock pot and dishes/glasses, but no stove or oven so don't plan on cooking anything requiring a burner/full sized oven. The upstairs unit also apparently controls the temperature for the entire house (at least we could not find a thermostat) -- this was OK for us, but this is a basement and floors are cold in the winter--be sure and bring slippers as Rita requests that shoes not be worn in the home. Overall, this was a great experience and we'd love to come back -- I think we will try for the upper unit next time!

    Eric2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked how clean it was. Includes a nice huge closet space for storage. Communication with the tenant was very good-she got back to me right away anytime I had a question, and was able to accommodate an early check-in which we really appreciated. We also loved being 4 blocks away from the Duluth Grill—we ate there for breakfast every day!

    Jon2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute space, very close to downtown! Loved our time here.

    Julianna2017-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's place is beautiful, clean, affordable, and conveniently located to downtown! Bars are a quick $10 uber in to town, along with great shopping! I highly recommend booking with Rita.

    Shannon2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for somewhere to just sleep and get ready then to spend your days out and about in duluth! Its a quick drive or cheap uber ride to down town and canal park.

    Brooke2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Unit was very nice, clean, and renovated. Nice neighborhood and close to downtown Duluth but expect to park your car in the street. Rita communicated really fast when you messaged her and I thank her for that. The ceiling is a bit low so for those that are 6' and taller, it's not ideal. The heat is controlled by the upstairs unit and the downstairs unit was not able to control their own temperature. Floors were thin where every word could be heard downstairs.

    Michael2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's place was perfect! It was clean, cozy and convenient. It was a nice quiet location that was still centrally located.. nothing was more than 10 minutes from the house. I felt right at home and would definitely stay again. Great host!

  • This is a great, no-frills place for anyone looking for a place to stay in Duluth. Rita was a good host who responded quickly and made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend!

Set up exclusively for guests, the bedroom features a queen memory foam mattress with cozy cotton bedding, lots of table and desk space, and a great view of the lake. Plus bath towels, tea & coffee, 30 mbps Wi-Fi, use of kitchen, and more!
Just within 5 blocks there's two local bakeries, the farmer's market, a coffee & sandwich cafe, grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, two amazing parks, hardware store, bottle shop, and a natural foods market to name a few. Lighting is warm LED and dimmable. All of my guest rooms are set up solely for hosting, so there is everything that you need and nothing that you don't. There's also a large table for your stuff, a small desk, two chairs with memory foam cushions, a fan, a HEPA air filter, a power strip with plenty of plugs and USB charging, an electric kettle, an assortment of herbal teas, coffee, sugar, and half-and-half. Bath towels, a full-length mirror, and eco-friendly single use shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap are provided too. A clothes iron and hair dryer are also available. The kitchen is stocked with professional grade cookware which you are welcome to use. The stove is natural gas and modern, and I have just about any equipment you would need to cook a meal from scratch. This listing has been inspected by the City of Duluth and State of Minnesota for Fire and Health Safety. All rooms include brand new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher, and an escape ladder.
This is a fantastic neighborhood. It's very quiet and safe with low traffic and within a 15 minute walk of downtown and another 5 minutes to Canal Park. Portland Square Park is less than a block away and there are many great businesses about 5 blocks away (see the other details in my listing).
  • Ben's place is really great! Very cool old house, we had everything we needed and Ben was very accommodating. The space is very organized and clean. His place is located near downtown and near some really great spots. Talked with Ben just a bit and seems like a really cool guy. Would love to stay at his Airbnb again on our next trip to Duluth.

    Kristen2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's place was great and exactly as described. I will definitely be staying at his house next time I'm traveling through the area. I highly recommend this place not only due to the clean, comfortable accommodations, but also because it's within walking distance of the lakefront area.

  • Checking in was super easy and was flexible. Ben's place was one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed at. The bed was also very comfortable as it was a memory foam mattress. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment. I never had to contact Ben since everything went smoothly. I would definitely love to stay at Ben's place again next time I'm in Duluth

  • I would say the most pleasant part of staying with Ben, was the conversation with him. He is an adventurous person with good stories to tell, but at the same time curious about your story. He made our stay comfortable and we enjoyed it a lot. I'm going back for the second time. P.S. If you're a biker, Ben is an advocate for local biking trails. So thank him for that too.

  • This place is such a little gem! Don’t let the word motel scare you away. It is a very clean, well kept, dainty little place to stay and for the price you can’t beat it. I would say it’s a 100% nicer than most hotel rooms I have paid triple the price for. It was a quick drive over the bridge in Superior on 35, about 5 minutes from all the action down town Duluth/Canal Park. When we come back to Duluth we will defiantly try and book this room again and recommend it to our family and friends!

  • It was a nice little room; updated, had a little fridge, and toaster combo thing, I believe a microwave, and counter. The sink was apart from the tub and toilet, which was nice for getting ready. The bed was ok, comfortable enough. The TV and channels were nice. Clean overall once it was cleaned up from the person before us; it was dirty on arrival but communication was great with the owner and it was fixed quickly.
